I’ll be in the NT in mid November - whatever happened to the nice swampy greenlands??
Omg it’s as dry as my humor?

It'll be as hot as a new horse shoe in mid November !

Awesome, Doc! The conditions will be tough, but the hunting will be good - unless we get early rains. Just drink lots of water plus electrolytes - even Coca Cola is helpful.

Also try to do most of your hunting at dawn and dusk, or early morning and late afternoon. And remember, three kilometres out in the morning is easy enough, but it’s the getting back that can kill. If hunting during the heat of the day, keep it to short stalks into known attractions like waterholes, etc.

I just had something similar with my 9.3x62. Can't seem to get the old RWS 286gr T-Mantel rounds anymore so changed to Norma Orxy 285gr.

Closing the bolt was very tight on the Norma whereas the action with the RWS was very slick. Turns out has a tight chamber so gunsmith increased the headspace by an extra 2 thousands of an inch. Now nice and slick again.

    Hope you get it sorted.

Ain't that the truth. I do a short stint on the NT / QLD border in my first job in NOvember and the heat was killer.

Literally straddling the border between QLD and NT, bit of a long hop out of Mt Isa by JetRanger ;)

BenKK, is it worth sending the manufacturer an email? Maybe they can do something about it. Is there another AH member in Oz that uses a 300 H&H that can ship you a couple of pieces of their brass to see if it works in your rifle? I cant see brass wearing out or ruining "action" parts of a rifle.
