It is with regret that I post this thread to highlight a bad experience while dealing with a hunting outfitter. I have travelled to numerous countries and have had on the whole brilliant experiences, with fellow hunters, who conduct their business in the most professional manner. Unfortunately, this has not been the case when dealing with an argentine outfitter and trophy exporter.
I have gone into a bit more detail on another thread: Advice sought on trophy importation issues: http://www.africahunting.com/threads/advice-sought-on-trophy-importation-issues.27627/, but basically down to bad taxidermy preparation and unprofessional exporting, it has taken over two years and a lot of money to recieve our trophies ready for our taxidermist in UK. After which the trophies are in very bad condition.
Please refer to my other thread for more detail.
Therefore, this is a word of caution to anybody thinking of hunting with Caza Y Safaris. Exporting there trophies through Alfredo Perez.

Argentina has been a place that I have wanted to visit and hunt. Many people have had difficulties getting trophies out. It is more costly than Africa and seems to be less care. Just doesn't seem to be a real professional dip and ship company there. That has put me off on going. Too many good places to go. Sorry your trophies are not good. Bruce

The hunting was good, particularly the native species. It was something we had thought about doing again, especially hunting peccary pigs with dogs, but unfortunately this experience has put us of. Although, I am sure there are reputable outfitters in Argentina, I am once bitten twice shy.
I don't like to post negative comments, although I like to think that by posting them it may help other hunters in future.

Since this forum is about being fair & balanced, I contacted Alfredo Perez whom we have worked with for many years and is not a member of AH. What I did was send Afredo the posted photo and a screenshot of this thread in order that he had the opportunity to reply. See his reply below:

I think Alfredo has been honest and fair.

SSI, that was real fair of you giving Alfredo chance to know the problem.

For some reason I can not see a response. Looks like moderator took down a post!

Firstly, Thank you to safari specialist importers for getting in touch with Alfredo Perez company, I too believe in being fair and everybody having there say.
Yes there was delay in payment on my behalf, I did make an initial payment as soon as I received the invoice, unfortunately this got lost in the banking system somewhere. Once I had resolved that problem with my bank, which wad the best part of two months, I Hadn't the funds to pay there and then. But did pay as soon as I could, which was yes 5 months after initial contact.
In March the trophies were shipped, however despite Martin Aires best efforts about the incorrect information on paperwork prior to shipping, they still sent them, in the full knowledge that they wouldn't pass customs on this side. Contrary to there response above, they were given very detailed information on what exactly needed changing, but seemed to ignore this and send the trophies and incorrect paperwork anyway. Martin Aires is well regarding, and highly recommended throughout this community.

I have tried to contact both parties before posting this comment, to addres my issues direct, but they did not reply.
Like I said in my other post, I don't mean to post negative comments but I hope that others may learn from the mistakes both I and the companies involved have made. I certainly have learnt a lot.
I have tried to be fair about this and also think it is a shame that it has taken a public forum to try and get some sort of answers.

The source of the problem was the trophies either we not taken to the taxidermy company in time by the outfitter or the trophies were not properly cared for and put in a crate before they were shipped.

I too had the same type of issues with this outfitter back in 2009. It was previously discussed here on AH. My buffalo Cape was not properly cared for in the field and was a total loss when I finally received it. I had hoped they corrected this but looks like they are having issues. Sorry you're having to deal with this Izzy.

I´m really very sad to read this! As an Argentine... I´m very angry too...
Perhaps (only perhaps, I don´t know Alfredo...) the problem isn´t fron him... The exporter enterprises and burocracy in my country, specially in the last administration was a DISASTER...
I hope the situation change now!

We are very sorry to hearing about this situation. Due to several claims we have had with Alfredo Perez we changed our exporter last year.
We use to send many nowadays is doing well. Not Expensive at all.

I hunted with Caza Y Safaris in April 2016, and I am yet to receive my buffalo hide. Every time I write all I get back is BS. So if any person on this site wants more information about my experience, please feel free to write me. I have taken over 30 big game hunts world wide, 12 to Africa, and this outfit is BY FAR the worst ever!!!! When I booked my hunt I could not have asked for better responses, but the minute they had my money, the communication stopped. In fact, it was 2 days before I was to fly out that I heard where and when I was to be. BEWARE if you are considering Caza Y Safaris in Argentina!!!!!!

    Justin,

When I was in the booking process I heard from Thomas on a prompt basis. After I paid my deposit, months in advance, it wasn’t until 3 days before my flight that I finally heard back from anyone saying where I was to meet them. On my hunt I saw ONE red stag and one bull buffalo. Because I paid for a package I did shoot the small bull. 22 months later I have not received my buffalo hide. I have persistently emailed, at first I got apologies but no hide. Now, a year later I get no replies. Another guy, named Bill, showed up for a buffalo hunt. They decided to move him a couple of hours away and he ended up shooting a one horned buffalo, yes, one horn. He only saw one other small bull. And to date he’s never received his buffalo.

Now you surely can take your hunt, but after having been on 30+ big game hunts, including 11 to Africa, this outfit is BY FAR the worst bunch I’ve ever encountered!!!

You, or anyone, may feel free to contact me personally and I’ll tell you how I really feel!!! It’s outfitters like this that give all outfitters a bad reputation!!

As I’ve stated, I did receive my red stag, but I’ve never received my buffalo hide!!!! I would appreciate it if you would get that to me!! It’s only been since April of 2016 that I shot it!!!!!!
