I am in the early stages of planning a mixed bag hunt, something very different than a plains game hunt that I did last time.
Buffalo and Eland on the big end, birds and some tiny antelope on the small end.
The rifle choice for the big stuff is easy - my Ruger RSM .375 H & H. For bird shooting and small antelope, I am considering bringing my Krieghoff 16 ga.x16ga. / 7x57R drilling. I realize I could shoot everything except birds with a .375, but would prefer not to use it on the small stuff. I realize I can borrow or rent a shotgun, but my drilling fits me, and I like shooting it and it is very very versatile and accurate with the 7x57 barrel and 3-9x scope in claw mounts.
So I'd like your thoughts and the answers to two questions:
- would a drilling count as ONE firearm towards the two-gun limit that many countries restrict hunters to for import permits?
- is 16 ga ammo usually available or would it need to be special ordered far ahead of time? ( I asked this once before on here but did not get much response)
