Just checking to see if anyone has any experience with Varget in the 425WR?

Thank you

Welcome to the obscure group of 425WR owners. I have not used Varget, but it is slightly slower on the burn chart than Re15. The 425 was originally loaded with 69 grains of Cordite and Re.15 is frequently used as a substitute by multiplying the original cordite charge by 1.19 and getting the close equivalent to the charge for Re 15. The reason I say this is that I believe you could use that info as a starting point for Varget if you used care and start at a reduced load or maybe someone here has a computer program that can give you a starting load. I have had good success using IMR 4350 and Re 17 in mine. Good Luck!

Thank you sir. I greatly appreciate the information. So far RL15, H4350, and H4895 have worked well (with RL15 leading the way by a small bit)

If you are getting low on Re 15, Midway has 15.5 in stock and "On Sale" for $66 per lb. I picked up 3 lbs. but have not tried it yet. Most say it is virtually identical to 15 but we shall see. I use a lot of 15 but Alliant seems to be pricing themselves out of the market.

I’ve only swapped 15 for 15.5 (grain for grain) in my 450#2 double and saw no significant difference. I know every rifle is different

See you are from Denmark - see quite a few Danes where I stalk in Scotland - great hunters.
The Harkilia stuff works well in Africa - I have a bit for use here in UK.
I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands. If anyone happens to have a set of 600 Nitro Dies that will fit my Rockchucker Supreme RCBS press, please shoot me a message and thanks in advance for any assistance you may have to offer!
I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.
