Any .350 Rem Mag Fans?

That 358 looks about ideal dimensionally. I really like the heavier barrel contour on it too. It would appear you have a style. Which Leupold is your favorite?
If I was forced to choose a favorite Leupold, it would probably be a VX-3 2.5-8X36mm. I also really like the VX-R series, now discontinued.

Hello AH Folk...

I have been carrying .350 Rem Mag's while guiding and hunting for four decades plus... I have always found that it really punches up with performance on game. It has also done a pretty decent job of stopping bears on a few occasions. I have had several over the years, a Rem 673 and several Ruger Mark II's... my current is a Ruger M77 Mark II Stainless in a laminate stock, that I load 250 Partitions over W748 for.
Are there any other fans out there? What are you shooting and what are your preferred loads.

Nice bear! I don't have one but I always thought it would be a real nice cartridge in a BLR

I was sad to see the VX-R series go. That 2-7 w/dot was an awesome midrange optic for my AR. Can’t beat the magnetic flip caps that come with the Leupolds. Such a slick optics package.

Any reason you don’t choose the VX5HD 2-10x42 for your backup/guide rifle, rather than the 2.5-8 and 2-7 with the smaller objectives? Just curious about why the pros choose specific options.

Post some pics... those Sambar are beautiful animals... I imagine you hunt them similarly to our elk?

They are stalked in thickly forested mountain terrain. It's a very challenging hunt. This was the stag I shot last year, my first good one in 16 years of trying. We walked in 16km to this fly camp for a week, and I shot him on dark on day 2 with my Ruger .350RM.

Nice Stag Tim. They certainly are a hard animal to stalk. Good to see you still have the 350RM (y)

That's why I stay in a caravan park in a nice dry cosy heated cabin and hunt the fringe country of farmland. Meat is more important than antlers to me.
But someone I got to hunt the property because I couldn't help the farmer bad mouthed me something fierce and I lost the property. Now him and his mates hunt it. Never again.

I like so much since has born. The same power of my beloved 9.3 but in 20 inches barrel lenght.Maybe the first short mag round ...good look and I can imagine it for all around, when allowed ,for DG too by premium bullet always in a stainless steel rifle and polymer stock.Special x Alaska !

I have had several Ruger M77 .350 Rem Mags, mostly Mark II's... I currently have two that left the factory that way, but one has been converted to 6.5 Rem Mag with a 22" Bob Jury barrel and the other has been converted into a 20" carbine... so they have both been "molested."

These two rifles are heading to Africa in April, the 6.5 & .350 Rem Mags, make an excellent African pairing for PG. The .350 is loaded with 250 grain Partitions for Kudu, Blue & Black Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Zebra and Gemsbuck and the 6.5 with 140 grain Accubonds for everything else.

How’s the 6.5 shoot?
Which Leupold is it wearing?
Very nice battery

My 6.5 Rem Mag wears a 22" Bob Jury barrel... it has consistently been my most accurate rifle. I had a VX-3 4.5-14x40 with Varmint Hunters Reticle on the rifle, when I took a mountain goat at 430 yards, and WT buck at 470 yards and a Black Bear at 560 yards in a blueberry cut. I just changed the scope for this African hunt, to a Leupold VX-3HD 4.5-14X40 30mm Windplex reticle with.the Zero Lock CDS dial... still have to get that rig sighted in... the rifle should still be a serious shooter. It really likes the 140 Accubonds over RL-22.

You’re going to love your new 4.5-14. I have the same one on my 270.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
