Another rifle in my favorite German caliber - 11.2x72 Schuler

I just added a 4th 11.2x72 Schuler caliber rifle to the family. Although this one is marked "A.Jansen", it is likely made by Schuler.
This is one wonderful rifle. Hope to have a field test later this week.

specs are:

Mauser 98 Action
11.2x72 Schuler caliber - 1 up 4 down
Double triggers
26-1/4" barrel - Octagon to round
Full Length Matted Rib
3 Leaf Rear Site - one standing / two Folding
Silver Bead Front Site
8 pounds 12 ounces
14-1/4" LOP
Red Silvers Recoil Pad
made in 1927

There was a gun shop in the Belgian Congo by the name of A. Janssen. Your beautiful 11.2x72mm Auguste Schuler Model 34 was most likely retailed by them. Pre World War II, it was the second most popular big game caliber in the Belgian Congo (barring the 10.75x68mm Mauser).

Its always fun to share my newly acquired treasures.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
