As much as we want hunting to remain apolitical, as it well should be, our opponents do not have our scruples and have been making our sport political for a number of decades. One of the ways to address people who have honest questions is via economics. To be armed with the ammo that economics can provide, I would encourage you all to read "Economics in One Lesson" by Henry Hazlitt. It isn't terribly long, and unlike most economic writings, it is easily understood, is quickly absorbed, and simply becomes part of who you are. It will provide you with the framework to answer honest questions about hunting that at first blush don't appear to have anything to do with economics.

We all understand we're the biggest contributors to conservation, but undergird that [intuitive] understanding with the philosophy behind why it works. If you haven't read this, I promise that you'll wish this short piece had been part of your high school civics class.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
