hello all,

A couple weeks ago I went on a goose hunt with my father and brother and had a blast. it shows that Ontario has some of the best hunting in the world from my point of view, probably because I was born and raised in Ontario. We went up to Campbellford just up by Peterborough and altogether between seven people we ended up with 21 geese. If anybody is interested in goose hunting Campbellford is a great place. Same with Peterborough.

Congrats, Goose hunting is addicting. Whitetail season starts on the 1st and I am still contemplating one last goose shoot for the season LOL, I am hooked.

Pictures man, I need proof. :)

Great job. How do you cook them?

Ontario has a lot to offer that's for sure, have done some great goose hunts in the past

Great job. How do you cook them?

Canada geese are tougher than shoe leather. Having said that I have an amazing recipe for the best burger you have ever sunk your teeth into.

Debone and grind your lean (very well trimmed and skinless) breasts and thighs.
mix in 1 egg for every 1 1/2lb of burger.
add bread crumbs until the egg is soaked up.
add Montreal chicken spice or Montreal steak spice (don't overdo it, you can always add more when cooking if you need)
add 1/2 onion per 1 1/2lb of burger

This is the same recipe I use for Beef, Moose, Elk, etc but Goose is by far the best. Make these 30% smaller than beef burgers since there is virtually no shrinkage. Add just a small dab of butter to the frying pan when cooking, they are plenty moist to eat but will try to burn without the butter.

Enjoy

should try canning them, I have pretty much canned or jar'd most meats. The canning process breaks them down and are truly awesome, good then for stews or warmed up and thrown with rice or taters
Even the tough turkey legs when canned almost flake like tuna from a can
