AH Dangerous Game Hunt In The Limpopo Valley For 2026 With MATTANJA HUNTING SAFARIS

Spot and stalk for croc is exciting and for me, more interesting than baiting. That's exactly what I used on my croc; .375 and 300 gr Barnes X. At about 40 yards, the bullet did NOT exit the neck shot and actually rolled the croc up on his side. When he came back down, I hit him again. No exits on neck shots even up close.

On the second shot did you hit him in the neck a second time or heart lung?

Second shot was same placement to make sure he couldn't move. Then we ran up and put one in lungs. He continued breathing and blinking his eyes for over 10 minutes. They can still react for a long time.

I hope several crocs are taken during our hunt. Even the recoveries are exciting. I had to throw rocks at the crocs that were coming up to us while we waited for the tractor to show up. They are very aware of the blood in the water.

We have room for one more couple or pair of friends or single.

Who on this trip will be at SCI in Nashville Feb 20-21? More importantly, who will be at the AH dinner get together Friday, Feb 20th at Jonathon’s Grille Germantown? It would be great to meet you guys ahead of time. Me and @skydiver386 will be there giving out AfricaHunting.com hats to the people who arrive first. Here is me modeling the latest color.

With all of this rain, we should see some excellent horn growth from all of the greenery that will pop up. This is going to be a good year. I will say that I'm glad I'm not there while the crocs are washing over the dam and crawling all over the place. Everyone needs to take one home!

What did you end up doing with your last Croc?

I'm considering a diorama with the croc below a glass panel rising to attack an Impala or warthog.

Hey, why not if you have the space? I just did a simple bronzing of the euro skull. It's in a container on a boat to me but here's what it looks like. I will put it on top of a bookshelf or inside a coffee table.

I am sorry I have a hunt. Thank you for putting this out there as this kind of fellowship and fun with like minded folks sounds super cool. Can't wait to hear results and get daily diaries. Thank you.

That's the essence of what we are offering and what makes this special...a chance to share camp and memories with like minded folks from THIS forum, while having daily opportunities at DG and PG. The evening meals and campfire conversations will be epic! Just wait until you have some of the oxtail from eland or buff that someone takes!

I would have loved this too - but will be in Namibia with my family. One must make such sacrifices…. Lol

For those who are interested but can't go this year, we are making a list for next year and have already gotten a lot of interest. Hit me on the DM if you are interested in next year's event.

Be careful of hunting Chewore South, the area has been decimated.....

Curious about this. I hunted Chewore South with D&Y in September and they did tell me it was there last hunt there.

Which outfits shot it out?
Impala cull hunt for camp meat!
