It's great to hear from all of you! I live in Sunset Hills which is in St. Louis County.
My first trip to Africa was to Namibia. I hunted with Immenhof Hunting near Omaruru in the Erongo area. I took Kudu, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeast, Harman's Mountain Zebra and Warthog. All were old, excellent trophies. My PH was Werner von Seydlitz, who with his father, Fredrich, own and operate Immenhof. The von Seydlitz family made me feel like I was a part of their family. The accomodations are excellent and so is the food. I can't wait to get back. This time I'm after Eland, Springbok, Blesbok, Blue Wildebeest and maybe another Gemsbok. Some pics from my first Namibia trip.
My first head of African Game.
My first Kudu.
In 2014 I hunted in the Luangua Valley in Zambia. The area was Nyamvu, which is one of the private areas south of the Park and on the east side of the river. My PH was Alister Norton. A great guy and a great Hunter! I took an old grey Dugga boy Buffalo, my second Kudu, Puku, Bushbuck, Waterbuck, my second Warthog and an Impala. Nyamvu is a game rich area. Unbelievable numbers of plains game. I can't imagine a better place for Roan. Although it wasn't on my hit list, we saw good ones every day. The camp was old Africa. Remote, beautiful and comfortable. Lions roaring at night.....even saw a lone female who was very pregnant. Elephants drank from the river daily in front of camp. I want to go back on my next trip and will if I don't go to Niassa first! Some pics.
The old grey man and his old grey buffalo.
I think Bushbuck hunting might be my favorite next to Buffalo.
Sometimes you need to go with your strength!
I'll post a trip report as soon as I'm back from Namibia.
