And I can't wait! Hunting with Marius of KMG whom I would never had heard of if not for this great website. Nyala & Bushbuck and BlackWildebeest being the main targets. Beyond that whatever wanders into my crosshairs of the following list - Blesbok, Mtn Reedbuck, Warthog, Impala & Duiker Best part is my wife is coming along to do some video. I was single when I went the first time so I am excited for her to see South Africa. Beyond the 3 top targets I am just going take it as it comes. But hopefully I can drag my old bones up to get a Mt. Reedbuck since we will have to target that one specifically.
Well, Terminator, I beat you by three days!! Ten weeks from today is my departure. I will be bowhunting with Mike Birch and Hunt the Sun Safaris just to the northwest of Port Elizabeth, RSA. And like you, my top three targets are nyala, bushbuck, and wildebeest (except, in my case, a blue) with zebra, impala, warthog, baboon, and jackal also being on the list. In addition, I would love to be able to take a bushpig but realize that can be difficult with a bow. Good luck with your hunt (and your countdown)!!
Going to SCI banquet tomorrow....so who knows what the auctions will bring my way!! not targeting Africa this time, unless something to good to be true comes up! good luck guys!
Lucky!! But I have to wait until the school semester has finished and I have turned in my grades. So May 11 is about as early as I could possibly leave this year.
69 days for me! edged you out by a day of course James may have us all beat but little does he know we are booked at the best time LOL. Terminator, 2 of my main targets will also be Black Wildebeest and Bushbuck. My wannabe list is way too long to print here but I will be starting out in the Free State then heading down to the Eastern Cape. Your #1 target is one of my favorite African critters, I took my Nyala last June. Good luck to you, shoot a big twisty one!
Since I like you I will bring you back a Bushbuck, just send me the trophy/dip/ship/pack fee and I will make it happen. LOL
Twenty days for me. I am hunting elephant and I always have my eye open for a big warthog. I have not shot one yet. If I have time , I would also like a hyena. Cheers, Mike
You guys are making me feel bad...I've got a 120 day wait. The focus of this trip will be Sable, then (hopefully) a big tusked Warthog, a Klipspringer, maybe a Caracal, and a Red or Blue duiker and a Grysbok. I hope my .300 Weatherby will be enough gun.:speakevil:
Good luck to you also! We will be relatively close to you as we also will be somewhere NW of P.E. Don't shoot my Nyala!
Thanks to all that wished us luck. I will be sure to post a story and some pics! Good luck to all heading over and I hope you all find what you are looking for. I can only dream of Sable and Elephant right now so I am jealous and happy for you guys at the same time!
Buffybr, don't feel bad, you got me beat. I have 123 days to anticipate and agonize over. I really can't wait to share this experience with my wife and son as it will be there first time to Africa. We have four days in Victoria Falls/Hwange and then to Kwa-Zulu Natal for 11 days of hunting and three days of non-hunting activities. I'll be looking for a Nyala, Bushbuck, Bushpig, Eland and maybe a buffalo if he gives me the experience I'm looking for. My son (12 years old) will be looking for a zebra, warthog, impala and blesbuck.
Hey James. I am landing in Joburg (March 22) and hunting birds in the NW province. I will go on to hunt Zim on the second of April. I have seen your picture on some of your posts and will be looking for you. We probably won't see each other but we can compare notes on this site upon our return. I will be back in Canada on the fifteenth of April. All my best to you James and to all of us who are blessed enough to be going this year, good luck. Cheers, Mike
I will arrive KMG Safaris 43 days later than you You better leave the best Bushbuck for me My main targets for my hunt is, Bushbuck, Kudu, Hartebeest, Blesbuck and Impala. I will be hunting for 12 days and I hope to get them all on spot and stalk with my bow Looking forward to read your report when you come back
