7.5 x 55 Swiss Smith/Ruben K31 rifle

I had an unissued one like that. Rare beast most of them are beat to hell. Mine had a beach stock on it. I have seen them with nice walnut stocks but they are rare.

Yes, most are beech, I found online that was walnut so bought it to replace the issue stock full of plugs.

Mine is the Wall nut stock, then there is a "new" Beech stock one that I will get from it`s owner shortly...I am now working on the best bullet weight and propellant available in South Africa. I got great information/data from a Swiss citizen who already collected twenty eight of these 7.5x55 SWISS rifles in different models. He frequently hunts with these rifles in South Africa on a family game farm /nature reserve in the Gravelotte area.

He explained to me that the 178gn bullets is the best weight bullets to shoot out of the K31 7.5X55 SWISS rifle... he uses Swiss propellant .

He did indicated that there are propellants in SA available that will work like the N560 , H4350 and other brands as well.

Some feedback in regards to the possibility of ONE Propellant use for the .30 caliber hunting rifles:
SAKO .300WM /K31 Smidt&Ruben 7.5x55 SWISS... both are .30 caliber shooting 178gn ELD-X bullets ...

"
Te ver van mekaar Gert.
Die 7.5 is baie naby aan n 308, so die selfde medium burn rate kruiste sal werk.
Die 300 soek weer n slow burn powder"

Translated from Afrikaans langue :

The 7.5 x 55 SWISS needs medium burning propellant
The .300WM needs slow burning propellant

Translate from Afrikaans to English :
The .300WM has a large case with a small hole in front
The 7.5 has a small case with a large hole in front
The more case capacity relative to the bore diameter the slower burning rate the propellant needs to be.
That is the reason the .308Win and the .30-06 uses different propellant still both are .30 caliber..

This is a great explanation for sure ..good to have friends with such great insight in reloading..

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
