Good day fellow hunters and forum members,

I have a opportunity for a hunter looking for a exceptional sable bull. The bull will be hunted in our Kalahari area in the North West Province of South Africa. The area is close to 10 000 acres and offers hunters the opportunity to add lion and several other plains game species.

This hunt can be done as a add on to your already booked safari in Africa or you can book the 7 day package as below. A different price will apply if it is only a add on for 2 to 3 days.

7 Day - 49"+ Sable Bull Safari - South Africa

5x Hunting Days for 1 hunter,

This 49"+ Sable bull as in pictures below:
(I apologize for the picture quality, taken with older phone)

JKO, you are a good company, you have some excellent hunting on offer, but for goodness sake drop offering animals with mention of inches. If you have learnt one thing it is surely that our American hunters are dead against 'by inch'. Call the sable a 'beautiful huge maturw bull', or whatever, something that appeals, but not a supermarket number.

Hi Jacques,

I am interested in your Sable hunt....but my wife was wondering if you'll offer hot french press coffee in the morning...in a loin cloth! :ROFLMAO:

Bill,

Jacques @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS is in Zimbabwe now with sketchy internet coverage. I'll make sure he sees your post one way or another. As far as the coffee/loin cloth goes.....whatever it takes to make a client happy he'll do. But having shared a hotel room with him, holy crap, I don't even want to tell you.

Yes, I know, I was just communicating with him by WhatsAPP a few minutes ago. Shot a nice hippo yesterday. We'll see just how far he is willing to go to please a client!

I’m an American hunter and I have no problem with an appropriate guess of inches being thrown in to an offer. I dislike the mature or representative idea cause I’ve seen rack and stack boys tell the uninformed or newer hunters to shoot subpar animals. They may be happy at the time and later realize a little patience is a good thing. Different strokes for different folks. Jacques, great offer but I’m curious about the loin cloth

That sable is gorgeos, you realize right away that it is an extraordinary trophy! I do not mind knowing how many inches it is estimated.

As another American hunter, I don’t have an issue with an exceptional animal being marketed either. However, a distinction needs to be made between an estimation on an exceptional animal that’s wild on the property vs an animal that has been darted, measured, and released on a property. From discussions on buffalo hunting I had with JKO last year, I’d be quite confident this would be a good hunt.

Kevin, unfortunately marketing for hunts based on certain sizes in the US have become the norm, especially in the exotic hunting markets where lots of animals are actually captured through various means, measured and released. The US hunting operations know exactly what the animals are going to measure before the hunt and thus will advertise as such bc the costs of the hunt is often driven by the score. It is what it is.

Mr Kevin,

Thank you for the message. I understand what your saying and appreciate the advise. As you and many other members on this forum know, I am all for hunting large areas and keeping safaris as authentic as possible.

In our industry you sometimes come across a great opportunity to market exceptional animals. If you read my heading on this thread it said 49” plus sable. For sure I do not know what exactly this bull will measure as it has been in hunting area I just got for a couple of years and has not been measured or darted recently. It is definitely not a put and take animal as I hate hunting that way and it is not fair towards my hunter.

I hope this clears this up and that I will offer a authentic and ethical safari like I have done for many years.

Thank you sir.

A remarkable animal, by any measure, be it in inches, or just an estimation. As a side comment, my Gemsbok was a surprise sighting, at around 300 yards. It was "called" as near 40", but we didn't measure it afterwards. Checks here at home shows each horn dead even at the one meter mark; close enough for me. The wrap-up? Trust your P H ...
