416 Rigby CZ550 - asking for a friend, really...

A friend of mine is on the market for a CZ 550 Safari Classic in 416 Rigby.
What should he expect to pay for such a rifle in excellent condition?
How much would you sell yours?

I will need to double check my tracker when I get home but from off the top of my head at least $2,500-3,500. It really depends on the quality and any custom work.

You can expect a bone stock to be in the 2000-2500 range and ones with upgrades in the 3-6k range.

Alrighty now, of the 41 416 Rigbys on my tracker the average is 2,649.87. In recent years 2023-2026 it would go for 2,500-3,000.
I only have 4 of the safari classic model on my tracker and they are around 2,750, if I am to average.
I haven’t been updating my tracker for the last few months life has been to busy but that should give your friend a better going market rate estimate to work from. Hope that helps.

I’d say a hogback is $1800-2000 and an American is $2600-3500. Condition is everything.

I started gathering information back during the winter (nothing better to do), I monitor gunbroker, guns international, Cabelas Gun Library, true gun value (like a gun bluebook) and I went through all the classifieds here on AH to build out a database to understand market rates.

I was looking for a 458 Win mag to pair with my 375 but had no idea what a good price was so I spent a few weeks gathering the initial data then have been updating it as I was looking for the 458. Ultimately I was not in a near term need like I was thinking, so I will continue to save for a double. But all the data is still very valuable to have.

I just picked one up off Gunbroker at the time there were 2 listed there I was bidding against 3 other people; the other one was listed for a $2650 buy it now option and had 3 days left. While I was bidding on the one that was ending I ran it up on the guy or he was trying to run it up on me lol, I jumped of and hit buy it now while other 2 guys fought it out, that one ended up going for $3100 I believe. Its all about pictures also one of the aspects one I bought stock looked rough buy I was planning on replacing replaceing anyway. Received gun way better condition than photos showed.
