404 Jeffery For Sale

Not much to add here except that having successfully hunted with the .404 , I am a huge fan. This looks like a fine example.
A fun cartridge to hand load for.

Good morning everyone. When I built this 404 I was also building a couple other rifles that all needed some work to get them to feed correctly. On this 404 I thought that I had done the work and shot it with spitizer bullets one at a time. We I was mistaken as it feeds off the left rail but not the right and CEB type solids not at all. When I sold this the buyer pointed out the feeding problem. I stated that I would make it right and he could have a local gunsmith get it feeding correctly and I would pay for it. To make a long story short we worked a deal where he kept the ammo, brass bullets and loading dies and I paid a partial refund. He shipped the rifle back to me and I confirmed I had not finished the work correctly on this rilfe. I was very upset with myself and just put it in the safe to work on this winter. So if someone is interested in a project I will sell it as is for $1400 (What I have in parts) OBO.

I F'ed this one up but I always stand by my word and make things right with who ever I am dealing with.

My Lija 404 barrel cost $1K in the white after installation by Olsen. Surely this action is worth more than $400. Just curious what caliber did Bauska originally build the action for?

I would be interested in buying a copy of the loading data you worked up.

I doubt it would take much work to make the right rail feed. Presumably second round is getting stuck not popping loose?

What do you think it will cost to fix the feeding issue?

This rifle is SPF.

Congratulations to the seller and buyer. Excellent buy.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
