Just picked up a Kodiak in 375 H&H. For those that have one and load for it, what have you found to be the best for the shorter 21 inch barrel? I have a bunch of 285 gr grand slam bullets I planned on loading, just wanted to see what y’all have done. TIA

As long as you're getting respectable accuracy and 2400 fps or faster with 300 gr, shouldn't matter too much.

Haven’t loaded them up yet. I’m hoping to push those 285s around 2550 FPS. We’ll see what the chrono says

I made my reloading life simple years ago: I use IMR 4350 with both 270 and 300 gr bullets,
I haven't worked with 285s, but at that weight, I see no reason why the same powder wouldn't work.

Mine has a 20 inch barrel, I forget the velocity (have it written somewhere...) ; I seem to recall it was right at the published data.

I just reloaded some 285 Speer GS with 77 grains IMR4350. My barrel is 24in but I will run some over the chrono tonight if it will help you. Did you get them on sale at midway for $15 a box, I bought 3.

My Sako likes the 300 gr Barnes TSX with WW 748 or a 300 gr Swift with RL15. I’ve used Grand Slams in several rounds but never a .375.

I bought 500 Speer GS bullets from Rocky Mountain Reloading because of the price. I think I’m going to try reloader 17.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
