.375 Ruger herlaai info vit barnes tipped TSX 250 grains

I have found Accurate Arms RL17 works good in the 375 Ruger. I load a 300gr. Nosler Accubond at 2590fps. 1/2" 100yds and a 350gr. Woodleigh PP at 2391fps 1"group at 100yds. this is out of a 20" barrel Guide Gun. I have heard of 81.0gr. of RL17 loaded with the Barns 250gr. TTSX with speed0f around 2850fps.

For some reason, I expected you guys to get much more velocity out of your Ruger loads with this bullet. Seems like I am getting the same or more velocity out of my H&H loads with this bullet and no pressure signs. I have had best results with H4895.

Regardless, I think this bullet is the most versatile ever made for the 375; can be loaded to hit like a 300 grainer, but with a better trajectory than a 30-06. The 250 TTSX is a real thumper!

Desert Dog: The 375 Ruger performance is very good considering a 20 inch barrel. Compare a 375 Ruger with a 23 inch barrel to a 375 H&H with a 23 or 24 inch barrel and I think you'll find the Ruger round does quite well. Not enough difference between the two rounds to be noticable. The difference is the affordability of the rifle, typically half the price of the H&H models.
