Used, Blaser R8 barrel for sale. No sights and is 25 1/2” long. Bought as part of a rifle package but I don’t need the barrel. Previous owner said it has around 100 rounds thru the barrel. Crown looks good but I have never fired the barrel.

Asking $1200.00 shipped in the lower 48.

I have done several deals on this site so I can supply references if need be.

Thanks

Jaye

for us Blaser luddites, how do you tell what barrel profile that is?

A few ways.

First is price. The 19mm semi-weight and 22mm safari/Selous barrels have a starting price over $3K. Finding one of these for sale at $1200 would mean something is seriously wrong with it.

Second is the look, it takes some time but eventually you can "see" it.

Third - The seller should put this in the description although it doesn't look like @jbirdwell did it. But it's not a huge deal seeing as we are sorting it out now.

That's a great deal on a very good barrel. I prefer that profile and have the same barrel in .375 for my R8. It carries very nicely and the recoil is minimal. Most guys will not need a heavier barrel for 375.

I’d buy one If it had sights, I can justify a lighter caliber without sights but not a 375, wonder what blaser would charge to make it proper?
Thanks for the reply gents!

I did not mention it but I might be interested in trades like a barrel of smaller caliber or optics

I was hoping my 9.3x62 mag would work, but it looks like the 375 has its own magazine.

Yeah the 375 mag only work with 6.5X68 and 8X68S I believe

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
