318 Wesley Richards vs 338-06 ballistics, Apples to Apples

I fit QL to Hodgdon data for the 338-06 and used that for the WR. Set the WR to its max. rated pressure and set the 338-06 to the same. Woodleigh 250gn bullets for both, 24" barrel. The BC for the 338 was lower than for the 318, why the velocity drops of quicker.

Then, because 338-06 is modern at higher pressure, here is with the 338-06 at sammi. max PSI.

For an old gal, the 318WR still looking good:)

Both will do what is asked of them, but only one does it with panache
