.300 Weatherby help

my old man has a Weatherby Mark V in .300 Weatherby and much like yourself he had the same issue about the rifle. he brought his just for his trip on that trip he was using 220 grain partitions and they jut went straight through everything. after that trip he started using 180 grain accubonds he is now so happy with the accubond bullet that he uses it in every other rifle he owns. now i havent personally shot the rifle however i have seen him take a fallow deer doe at 500 yards using the weatherby and the bullet didnt pass through. so persionally if it was myself i would be using 180 grain accubonds because since we switched to using them we have only lost one animal with them and that was due to a crook shot however we did find the impala a week later not further than 200 yards from where it was shot. just another thing to add i shot at kudu bull on my first trip with a 25-06 Remington using 110 grain accubonds and killed it with one shot and it went 30 yards before falling

Fellow in our group last summer used a .300 Weatherby. All his animals were one shot kills save one. He was using factory loaded Barnes ammo with 180 grain bullets. I wasn't present for any of the hunts he went on, but I don't think that his P.H. was too concerned with his choice of armament.

Nice Report! Im about to pull the trigger on booking the LDE with Patrick. I have been talking about it with him for about 3 yrs now. Romain hit me up the other day with an offer I can't refuse for 2027.

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?
