What are the thoughts of @roverandbrew and @sestoppelman on the metal work on their respective rifles ?

Presumably the actions are made on all modern tooling and provide modern precision in an almost traditional 98 design, but I don't know.

There have been various 98 reinventions over the years with varying levels of precision and finish, but I had hoped that these (Rigby and Mauser) would be a huge leap forward in precision of manufacture. Again, I don't know.

I think the metal work is excellent and extremely impressed with the durability of the metal coating. If I was to describe the action I would say it feels strong and it feels like a Mauser. Nothing feels weak but nothing feels like it has too tight of tolerances to create reliability issues in dirty conditions. It feels reliable.

I agree, it feels very solid but also slick and smooth in operation.

I only have 2 rifles...in 4 calibers...;).
I made my choice and went all in on Blaser.
Waiting for you to do the same.

But that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the beauty in other rifles.
The Rigby HS is a good example of that.
There are soooo many rifles I enjoy looking at.
Mrs BeeMaa calls it gun-porn.
It really is ok to own both a Blaser and a Rigby ........:A Too Cool:

You feel free to slide a Rigby under my tree sir.
Because that's about the only way Mrs BeeMaa will approve.

Apologies, but @Red Leg approval doesn't count East of the Mississippi.

@BeeMaa you almost have the lovely Mrs BeeMaa as the perfect hunting partner but you still need to get the checkbook away from her! :A Stirring: Lol.

Good write up, The Op @roverandbrew being the disciplined saver as stated I was thinking a Blaser might be next on the list.

Yep.
That's me.

Surprised you didn't play...

I wear the pants in my family.
Whatever pants she tells me to wear.
@ BeeMaa
Just remember @BeeMaa you are the boss of the house until she gets home and don't you forget it.

As long as one of the two is a .243......

with wives as well as the IRS you need to learn to have two checkbooks... rookie mistake!
@K-ma
Wash your mouth out with soap those are 3 numbes that should not be mentioned by any respectable hunter. May Mrs BeeMaa take your check book and only give it back to you after therapy. Those 3 numbers are an abomination to the hunting world ( well me any way).

Rover,
Your CZ bolt has some marked similarities to my pre 64 M70 action! Nice.

Hi, I was wondering where you lived. I am near Auburn. Are the loaded Norma AFrames factory ammunition? Thanks, Richard

Hi James, congratulations on winning a copy of Cries of the Savanna! I appreciate your interest in the book and hope you enjoy it.

I am leaving in an hour for the airport to meet up with my husband for a week so I will mail it as soon as I get home. I am sorry about the poor timing and making you wait.

Anyway, send me your address and I will get it in the mail as soon as I can.

Thanks again for entering!
