My younger son and I hunted with Jacques in 2015 including KZN as well as the NW province. Then my wife and I did something of an unexpected trip last year. Well when that got planned I decided to have the 2015 taxidermy held anticipating more.

Trophies cleared this week in Los Angeles. Normally I go pick it up myself and save a bit on shipping charges. But I am so swamped at work now trying to finish up a project, I decided to have it trucked. That decision was made yesterday and I wasn't anticipating arrival her in Phoenix until Monday. Well this morning I got a call and it was here.

I used Africa San taxidermy and they from what I can tell did a nice job. It was nice that for once I was listened too when I told them not to fix any flaws. I want the animals to look just as they did when I took them. I've not had a chance to unwrap the skull mounts yet, so jury is still out on those. Hopefully get to those tomorrow.

I was very pleased with the crating job and as always amazed how they get all of those animals in such a tight space.

    A few preliminary pics.

Thanks, that was kind of a silver anniversary present for ourselves. Donna shot the black springbok and I took the common.

Congrats on your trophies! They look great!

Also, I totally agree about keeping the trophies looking like the animals did when they where alive. It's part of each trophy's character.

They look very nice and the pedestal bases look good to. Glad to see someone else who likes them mounted like they take them not all painted up to look like they come from the beauty shop. Hope you take some pictures when they are up on the wall or in there final spot.

It sure is good that someone invented battery powered drills/screwdrivers! Looks like you have been doing some work.

Trophies look great. Congrats on getting them home. Please post final photos once you have them hung.

And just like you and Donna, her springbok looks better.

Always fun when the trophies arrive, some great looking taxidermy. Like the Springbok mountain.

    Good stuff Phil!

I am glad you were able to open the crate without too much help, being an engineer and all. ;)

Phil made it a challenge. To him, opening the crate is reverse engineering a tree and the lump of iron ore

I like the realistic look of the dog in the kennel, they were even able to get the correct eyes so that they glowed in the flash of the camera. :E Horrified:

The rest of them look great also.

Nyla was none too happy. She's only a year old and was fascinated by it all, but also looked like she was about to start chewing on a horn or two. And jumping around a bit which would not have been good for the Red Duiker. So banished to her kennel till all was put in a safe pup proof place.
