Monster Klipspringer From The Waterberg Mountains, Limpopo, SA

As it turns out, my taxidermist just discovered the cape of my klippy is slipping hair. He was very distraught when he showed me the photos. I said, no worries, I'll go get another one. You may have made my short list for 2025! Those are dandy rams.

Prior to the last election, and shortly thereafter, many predictions were made that Biden wouldn't finish his term. Some even predicted he'd only go a few months with at least one member stating just a few weeks. Well, here we are looking at the next election predicting they will replace him at...

My most despised teams are LSU and the University of Oregon. For years I debated with myself which one I'd root for should they meet on the field. After all the frigging debate, one of my daughter's ended up marrying an LSU guy and they now live in East Texas. Argh....

    2025 Plains Game Hunt

Nice offer! Lauren and Juan do a nice job. I've been with them two times and I've enjoyed it both times. Make sure to negotiate an eland steak into the offer! BTW that's me with the warthog. There are little two minute promos of LJ Safaris on YouTube.

Educate me - original cartridge vs. Ackley Improved?

The Hammers are supposed to be very easy to work up and tune a load for. Based upon my limited use, I think that is true.

Educate me - original cartridge vs. Ackley Improved?

I was in error regarding my plans with the 280AI and the hammer bullets. I thought I had three, 3 shot test loads ready but in fact I was still in the ladder stage. Shooting 143 grain Hammer Hunters behind IMR 4831, it looks like I have a load between 59 and 59.5 grains. I still have some more...

Educate me - original cartridge vs. Ackley Improved?

I apologize. I was interrupted by an urgent call and just hit the post button. Now that fire-forming and barrel break-in are done, I'm starting to work up an actual 280AI load. At present, I'm hoping to shoot three hammer hunter loads possibly today. Once done with that, I also hope to work up...

Educate me - original cartridge vs. Ackley Improved?

I just finished fireforming 97 280 Remington hand loads into 280AI brass out of a new Christensen Arms rifle. I also had 15 Nosler Trophy Grade ammo that I intermittently shot groups with. During the first 113 shots, the 280 Remington loads consistently out performed (by group size) the factory...

Makes me chuckle that he wanted to put off reporting until after deer season... Lakeview is/was near the heart of Oregons great mule deer herds, the Interstate, the Warners, the Steens... Proud of my fellow Oregonian. Rest in Peace man.

    Powder & Primer Deals Today

I saw an 8 pound jug of Reloder 15 on the shelf today and thought of you guys. If I had a reasonable way to ship I would've snapped it up and sold it by the ounce. I did manage to secure a brick (1000) of CCI 200 primers. Although the price was steeper than wanted, it was reasonable in...

    375h&h on elk

Elk are a lot of work unless you can get a tractor to them. My bull this year fell 300 yards from one road and 100 from another. The 100 yard route was steeply uphill to a logging landing and out of the question. I went with the 300 yard route and it still was a killer.
