I have the correct bases per Warne’s website. The rear is thicker than the front.

I meant that the rings are identical. The bases are the ones you specified.

Thanks for the replies. So the bases are correct. M902 & M802. Tried a beer can shim a couple of weekends ago and while closer, still 2 inches low with elevation maxed out. Maybe another shim would do it but the scope was not responding to the amount of clicks it was turned or even close to it...

One more thing, would this be one layer of beer can to start or a couple?

Shimming under the base or under the scope in the ring? Also, would I shim the rear?

They look identical to me. Maybe the front base is out of spec? Everything I’ve heard about Warne has been positive though. May try shimming and see where that gets me.

I’ve been having trouble getting my scope zeroed on my M70 .375. It has a Leupold VX3 2.5-8x36 mounted with Warne low QD rings and bases. I’m shooting Federal 300 grain Nosler Partitions. The first time I took it out, my elevation turret maxed out and still shot 6 inches low at 50 yards...

Is the bottom one a .458 win?

Thanks, I ended up buying the rifle Harryc102 posted above. Great guy to do business with and it is a wonderful rifle. I had Briley add a Silvers recoil pad to give it the classic look. Just need to get it over to Africa for a hunt now!

Thanks! I’m curious as to just how many of this model they made, couldn’t have been very many. I even emailed Winchester to see if they would consider making a one off for a bit of a premium much as Weatherby custom shop does or another run of lefty’s. Customer service said they don’t do any...

Definitely looks like a great deal on a good rifle but I’m pretty set on the classic lines of the model 70 with express sights. Appreciate the heads up though!

Thanks, they definitely seem to be a needle in the haystack. I saw the Ruger on GB but from what I’ve read, it seems the H&H would be worth holding out for. Do you know anyone with .375 Ruger experience? Looking for a plains game/Cape buffalo rifle

Also open to .416 in the same configuration but don’t know if Winchester ever made one in a lefty model.
