Congrats on another very fine safari! What an experience to move between so many areas and concessions. Such a wide variety of animals and scenery. Thanks for sharing.
I used the 180 Accubonds in my .300 win mag last year in South Africa. Factory Nosler ammo. Seven animals down with that round. Ranges from 50-300 yds. All 1 shot kills. Nothing went more than 30-40 yards at most. It was my first time using AB’s. They will be my go too from now on.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family! Even though we have never met, thank you for all that you have done for so many others. Your support here alone is evident with so many caring responses.
Welcome Allan! You have found the best forum ever. There is so much to learn from so many very knowledgeable people here. Oh and try to stay out of the classifieds. They are addicting! lol.
Amazing experience for all of you! Congrats on all of the fine animals! Victoria Falls is for sure on the bucket list to see. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure.
Congrats on a wonderful and exciting adventure! You took some fine animals. They will look good on the wall. Best of luck on your future forays to Africa. Thanks for the great write up.
Honestly I was afraid of that also. But in the days since it has driven him more. He has drug his bow out and started practicing like crazy. His goal now is to harvest a deer with it. He has plenty under his belt with gun and a few with crossbow. Now he’s big enough to draw back good poundage...
Well, as addicted to this site as I am, I must admit I’ve not been on much lately due to deer season being open here in Illinois. We’ve been chasing a giant for last few years and my oldest son (13) finally connected on him during youth season. I wanted to share with you all in his success...
Thanks @Tundra Tiger for an excellent trip report. I agree with the others, you have a unique way of writing that is simply pleasant to read. That goat hunt sounded like a fantastic adventure. I look forward to reading about your next one for sure.
It is wonderful to hear how you have taken a...
Very nice hunt! I was not very familiar with Sambar so I did some research after reading this. Quite interesting for sure. I love the colorations of them. Are they similar in flavor to elk or whitetail?
I cannot disagree with your comments. However, the fun is building it yourself. It’s kind of like Legos. When I was a kid, Legos came in a box of x amount of pieces. I could let my imagination soar.
The Legos I buy my kids now come in prepackaged boxes to make something someone else designed...
Looking forward to watching this post transpire, especially pics. Nothing in the works yet but have ambitions of dropping a Cummins into an old Willy’s. It is my belief a Cummins should be in every vehicle.
I am glad to hear you’re sold on Spypoint. I too am a loyal Spypoint user. I have been running cell cams since the days of the old 35mm cameras where they would eat up batteries in days and I would have to wait until WallyWorld developed the film only to find I had 24 pics of trophy Bluestem...
Welcome Decker9! For sure you found the right place with AH. I assure you will not be disappointed with the support you will find here. That is a fine looking 458 your grandad built. I sure hope you make your maiden trip to Africa soon as I can’t wait to hear your story when you get back...
Congratulations on two very fine red stags. They are for sure on my bucket list. I am getting a good feel about Marius at Huntromania from all of the great reports. Seems like a top notch outfit. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome to AH Gabrielle!
For sure you will find a ton of support and guidance here. A fair warning though, it is addictive.
Best of luck to you and your husband. I hope you find what you are after and have a great time. BTW, I second @Ridge Runner’s recommendation. Kubusi has been my only...
Great short story for sure. Sure would love to hear more and see more pics. But, hey, I’m kinda addicted to these stories. Lol. Congratulations to you all on a great hunt. Memories for sure. And some good natured ribbing I would imagine.
Will likely be heading back to the Eastern Cape. We still have a couple of animals left on our new and revised list (as in revised after our first trip) that we wish to meet up with again. It was just so much fun and my son talks about it every day it seems.
Option 3 (or 4??): go with what @Altitude sickness & @PHOENIX PHIL said, stay the night, get well rested, then drive. You would still save a good chunk of money and get to see the sights as well along the way - in daylight.
Congrats on a fine hunting adventure. You did well with a bow. Reading such reports fuels me more to take the trusty compound next time over. For sure my favorite method of hunting. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on a great hunt. 18 Safaris - that is amazing. Good for you to be able to make that happen. Not many people have that kind of opportunity. Most of us will only be able to do that through other’s hunt reports. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!! An entire month living the dream. And to do it with your family. Congratulations, that is awesome. Congrats to your wife on her bday. What an amazing day. Great start to the story, looking forward to more.
