We have used Bullseye for about 15 mounts. They do excellent work and have excellent service. They also did an excellent job with the shipping. We went to Bullseye after a very bad experience with Trophex. (Heads-up) I Don't think that it gets any getter than Bullseye. Brian

Hello Derian, Welcome to AH and thanks for posting your excellent website and photos. ( Your downloads work fine. The viewer just has to scroll down a bit to see them.) I love the Lowveld and have hunted 7 buffalo there. I will send you a private message. Best regards, Brian Gallup

    SOUTH AFRICA: MATTANJA HUNTING SAFARIS

Fugazi, That 416 Rigby sure works on buffalo. On my buffalo hunt this year the PH stopped a full on charge at 10 yds with a 416 Rigby. ( I messed it up with a borrowed .375HH, with a one lung shot. Long story, I don't wanna to talk about it. chuckle.) I have always yearned for a double rifle...

    SOUTH AFRICA: MATTANJA HUNTING SAFARIS

Thanks, Excellent bullet! Perfect performance. I use it in my 577 NE and Cutting Edge Bullets ( Raptor ) in my 50-110 Win. It is really "buffalo hunting" when you get close like that. Well Done! PS. I love shooting the .375HH but I don't use it any more for buffalo. ( I have killed 6 buffalo...

    First Dangerous game capable rifle

Here are some more of my personal opinions. I just add them as "grist for the mill". The killing power of a bullet is greatly improve by recent improvements in bullet design/technology, obviously. I also believe that a bullet's terminal performance increases exponentially with bullet...

Why not a Dangerous Game lever?

The 45-70 loaded hot and the 50-110 Win for cape buffalo. Use the best bullets. I use Cutting Edge Raptors and Solids. (There are other great bullets too.) There is a lot of daylight between the "best" bullets and at the "average" bullets for cape buffalo in my opinion. In the last few years...

    First Dangerous game capable rifle

As far as I am concerned the .375 HH/Ruger is marginal for cape buffalo. They usually run at least 30yds. with a good hit. Sometimes a lot further. Is that what you want? Brian

I have done several stocks for H&R Handi rifles and it sure makes a nice rifle out of them. Yours is very nice, better than some of mine. I did one for my 577 NE stub barrel job. and taken it to Africa for buffalo. Thanks for posting the photos. brian Gallup

    375 Ruger vs 375 H&H

I have a newer Winchester Mod 70 in 375 HH, Very smooth. First rifle that I bought in years that I didn't decide to polish the trigger a bit. It now lives in Africa. Perfect off the shelf standard rifle as fa as I am concerned. I also have a 375 Ruger Mag, 24 inch barrel, that is a rebarreled...

That "Mind Calming" thing is quite interesting. I don't remember him saying that but it wouldn't surprise me. I probably just didn't get it at the time. ( my loss.) However about a year ago I took up meditation and have found it very helpful. Thanks for the posts brian

.458 Lott recoil is no joke

MD Driver, I agree! Open stance and relax, be flexible/nimble, same as most other sports. I shoot a 577NE and a 500. You are right, the Lott is not terrible. You just have to relax and "make friends" with it. Good shooting to all you guys. Brian PS. Try squeezing the trigger slowly so that...

Who Are The Best Running Shots With A Rifle?

Those guys, as you have mentioned who have gotten good at driven boar should be the best. Also, I would think that the European sporting clays shooters and skeet shooters would get it figured out pretty quick too. There is an Olympic skeet champion (I forget his name.) in Squim Wa. USA that...

The Gallup's return from a hunt

I was just going through some of my notes and video clips and I came to realize that I have never shot a buffalo with a 375 CEB Raptor bullet. Down loading the 458WM to 45-70??

Hello Ridge Runner, I think that the key to this is the choice of bullet you use. If you go down to 30-30, l recommend the Cutting Edge bullets 130 gr Lever Gun Raptor and load it to high velocities. My grandson used that bullet for plains game in Africa. It kills well. If you go for a mild...

    Dangerous Game Scope

Interesting, I have never tried it. I am a bit sceptical, though. The fine dust settles on the lenses and the sun reflects off of it making it very hard to see through. ( Belgium Browning .338 and new model Winchester M70 in 375HH. Both rifles remain in Africa and we replaced the old weaver...

    Dangerous Game Scope

I have used the old weaver "K" scopes in Africa. I found that the worked great until the dust in a dry year gets on the lenses and greatly degrades the picture. That doesn't happen nearly as bad on a newer scope. I think it is because of the excellent modern lense coatings, Just a guess. I have...

    Dangerous Game Scope

Those are all good suggestions above, I think, but they are not for me. 458WM means mostly under 100yds. and long eye relief. On big bores I use red/green dot reflex sight or Leopold 2.5 or peep sight.

Why not a Dangerous Game lever?

The 50-110 Win works in a 1886. I use it in a cheap break open 10 ga shotgun converter to 50-100 Win. ( Actually mine is a true .500 cal .) I shoot CEB .410 grains Raptor bullets at 1,950fps to 2,100fps. and CEB 450 grain solids a bit slower. It kills cape buffalo quickly with an ordinary mid...
