Would you recommend sticking with the factory trigger, or doing the conversion? There is certainly no negative performance, as she's a shooter. BUT I don't love the ergonomics.
Wow - thank you for the thought out response, I appreciate it. It is a Brno ZKK 602 with the flat faced Glock-like trigger, and does have the safety paddle. It sounds like a smith is the best route.
Up for sale is my Marlin 336 from production year 1970 - this is the 100 year anniversary model. Never fired, and in excellent condition.
Looking for $1K, and am open to trades for various items.
Hello my fellow Africa-obsessed. I am letting go of my Super Express in .375 H&H (THIS IS A PUSH FEED - want to be super clear on that) that I picked up this Spring. I originally picked this up to practice while I searched for a CRF... well, I didn't even sight it in. I found a Brno and a CZ...
Thank you everyone! I appreciate it. I do actually like the safety on the 602, and don't anticipate changing it.
Can anyone shed some light on the floor plate issues? That is the main change I've been contemplating making, in addition to an upgraded front sight bead, and a barrel band sling stud.
Well.... I had two glasses of whiskey, and was a couple chapters in (for the 300th time) Death in the Long Grass... I woke up with a new Brno ZKK-602 in .375 H&H.
Any recommendations on gunsmiths for a little work? Upgrades anyone would recommend?
I'm not sure where to post this, but there are two Modeal 70 Super Express' in .375 H&H at Cabela's...

Ah! I did, didn't I? I have a .308 that I absolutely love. You hit the nail on the head with the redundancy, especially since my first couple of trips will be in the bushveld.
THANK YOU! This is exactly why I mentioned the .30-06 is not a caliber I'd consider. It is more than capable, and certainly a proven round - but I don't want one. I'd much prefer my .308 that has been a constant companion for years and is effectively the same for 95% of the hunting I do.
Aside...
I wound up stumbling on a Winchester Model 70 Super Express in .375 H&H and snagged it at retail. I figured it was a sign. Very much appreciate the advice!
You're correct - I'm VERY lucky and don't forget it. Looking forward to a lifetime of safaris!
Right on! What part of the state are you in? I am down in Charleston.
Surprised you have started using it over other cartridges here. What led you to that?
I pinch my pennies :)
I'm in the Southeast, so lots of whitetail and pigs. I have a Q Fix in .308 that is just a thing of beauty for the hunting I do. Built a 6.5 PRC when I got into antelope a couple years ago. Elk is definitely in my future.
I think you have perfectly encapsulated what is going through my head. While a .308 or .300 win mag (among the other recommendations already received) would likely be a "better" option, and certainly more than adequate - there's just something about a .375 H&H.
Did you ever feel handcuffed at...
Hi gents,
I'm new here, and recently booked my first safari (Aug. 2023) and needless to say - I'M STOKED!!
To mark the occasion (and my 30th birthday in July 2022), I'm picking up a new rifle. I'm torn between the below, and would love any thoughts! As an aside, I'll exclusively be hunting PG...
