I have managed to source a trim die through CH Tool and Die, so all good now.

Thanks. Recoil is heavy but manageable. Rifle weighs approx 12lbs at the moment but looking at restocking and having the weight of the rifle sitting at around 14lbs. The rifle was built for a previous owner who never used it.

I have a R8 Professional Hunter in 500 Jeffery (previously owned by a member on here). It has had some weight added and comes in a touch over 11lbs. It has the steel receiver and is a comfortable rifle to shoot in the big 500J cartridge. The Blaser rifles are superbly accurate as well.

The Model 85 Brown Bear is no longer in production from what I have been told. Recoil is pretty lively in the 500 Jeffery chambering as they are fairly lightweight for the calibre

I believe the blued finish is original to this rifle, given its plainness and no frills configuration. If only the old rifles could talk, as it would be nice to know its working history. Chris
