I am a very happy client of the staff of Thabazimbi safaris. I consider them friends now & recommend them highly for anybody interested in hunting the Limpopo area.
Later during my time in RSA, I was invited to join Quintin & Andries to attend a very special hunt that was planned. Andries' father had never hunted a bull Cape buffalo & had always wanted to. Andries Jr. had a purchased a hunt for his father, & I told him I would love to go as well. I added a...
I was fortunate to not run into any issues with Delta airlines. my flights were pleasantly boring, the AC worked on both trans-Atlantic flights quite well & all luggage was accounted for. The pilots also landed gently each time…. as a frequent traveler this is something that I always...
Quintin & Mari-Anne have a pet Caracal that is always nearby. It enjoys keeping the family dogs on their toes if they get too close. I estimate it weighs about 75 lbs…. a well fed cat by any measure
I was able to spot & stalk this old sow with one of her tusks clearly favored for digging. An exciting stalk to get within about 20 yards before I had a nice shot with the CZ. The shot went through the heart, she didn't know what hit her.
The black wildebeest was taken with a borrowed...
After losing many friends & family to Covid over the last few years, I decided I would need to fulfill my life long dream of hunting Africa before my ticket was up...after all, the biggest regrets in life are usually the things you wished you had done & never attempted. I am close to 50 years...

If you don’t put 10’s of thousands of rounds through the pistol you’ll probably never have a problem….just keep track of how much its digested & do a little preventative maintenance & you should enjoy it for years.
Yes, while they are very well made, the locking mechanism (swinging block like a german p38) eventually fails. when it fails, the pistol stops working, because the block changes shape slightly. Beretta began selling a beefier version of the standard pistol to rectify the problem. The slides...
pretty much every shooting range & 92f issuing law enforcement agency here in the US has experienced slide lock & slide failure (crack on left at locking seat). The pistols are well made but they do have an achilles heel.
I would not modify that pistol in any way, it is collectible & quite different from the pistol that became the US military standard. Notice the safety arrangement & magazine release are mechanically different from the 92F…. as well as the frame having the original round triggerguard & not...
