Ever drop big bucks on a rifle and just not bond with it?

LOL… thanks for sharing. This is great, well not for you, and I’m sorry for that….but now I know I’m not alone or crazy. I’m that way with many things, rifles, knives, etc. I have a rifle right now that I’m not loving because of the color of the wood and the finish on the stock. I’m going to...

I don’t make many of these because they are so time consuming fitting the guards and mirror polish on the blade but I do love a Loveless Style dropped hunter. Probably the best know hunting knife ever made, certainly the most copied. I just finished this one for me in classic green canvas...

Same seller I bought from. Don’t know how many he had but he’s had one for sale continuously since last October.

Got a pile of teenagers over here with my daughter and just cooked 8 pizzas in the wood fired oven. Now time to enjoy a smoke and a rum. A beautiful 68° spring evening.

I think they find most of it in the frozen tundra fairly well preserved. It can be stabilized with synthetic resins like woods.

Beautiful knife…..Have you got a good source? I’ve been eyeing a pair I wanted but couldn’t make myself spend the $200 they wanted for the pair of scales.

I love an old timer and great fried chicken. LOL …believe an old timer was my second pocket knife after a victorinox Swiss Army knife at 7 years old. I still use it. Their carbon steel would sharpen like a razor.

As for the giraffe bone, it is readily available in the US to purchase but I’m not sure what the process was for the seller to get it here… These are a few dyed and stabilized pieces I picked up for bolster material.

Well since I couldn’t decide, I just went ahead and made me one with ivory G 10 and one with Desert Ironwood. I didn’t make the blades subtly different… The ivory more fin and feather and the wood more for medium game though either would crossover fine.

Well boys, what's your temperature like now?

The dogwoods are blooming and my truck is covered in pine pollen. I hate pollen! It was a cold winter….I burned almost a whole pickup load of wood. Although to be fair 2/3 of it was in my pizza oven. Lol

The Richland is really nice. Has some bourbon notes. Slightly sweet but not too much so. Outstanding sipping rum. Could easily be my new favorite but I will reserve judgment until I’ve tried the recommended Flor de Cana 15. The bourbon notes reminded me of Tommy no. 2 a little but that’s...

Why shoot if you can’t hunt

I haven’t been fortunate enough to take my first Africa trip. I look at it as a welcome experience. I would enjoy learning from my PH. Foreign country, foreign terrain, foreign animals. Hell, as much as I’ve read I still can’t keep all the animals straight. I enjoy being self sufficient but...
