Not a comment on size, but in materials. I am in the process of designing my house and trophy room and will be putting 3/4" plywood on all the walls of the trophy room. This will allow you to place a mount anywhere, not just a stud.

I have not had any issues with scopes and binos in my carryon.

Get a good case and keep it all together. The risk of losing or have a bolt, scope, stock, etc goes way up if it is not a complete gun.

As mentioned, I always carry on my binoculars, personal essentials, and one complete hunting outfit including boots. The rest can be hired/rented. If my rifle shows up, but not my check bag with ammo, then I can find 300wm or 375h&h on the ground.

I would also look for a used K80. With 26" barrels falling out of favor inwould think you could find a nice one for way under $10k. My .02 on barrel length....you just have to know your gun and be on target.

Look into the Weatherby Vanguard Camilla. Various great calibers and you can have it shortened with spacers made to fit her as she grows. It already has the stock shape for a female shooter. My wife loves her Mark V Camilla.

Glad to see the quality work from them. They are doing my giraffe (rug, neck mount, and oddities), bushpig, and warthog from this summer. The rest of that safari's trophies will be done here in the USA.

I am not positive, but it has to be damn near the highest grade if it's not.

I lucked into this Blaser R8 375 H&H a few months ago and the Schmidt and Bender on top makes for a perfect match. Don't think I can do much better on the wood. Its an absolute dream to shoot. Looking forward to taking it to Africa next June.
