Why all the 6.5 Creedmoor Hate?

Now you made me remember that nice mild Marlin 336 in .35 REM. That I traded a lot of years ago. It was sweet.

Why all the 6.5 Creedmoor Hate?

I do agree Bob, mine was chosen for a pick up hunting rifle. It's a Weatherby Vanguard Camilla. Short, light, accurate, mild to very mild recoil, & with the short creedmoor case I can seat long 140gr bullets out. My Niece has taken two Elk with hers with two shots, one each. She is a good shot...

Why all the 6.5 Creedmoor Hate?

No, the man bun term is a term coined to disrespect the 6.5 Creedmoor. Wear your hair long & enjoy. Hope you & Bob have a ball shooting. I’m another who likes the Creedmoor, the name should give the haters a clue, but obviously doesn’t. The ctg was developed by Hornaday as a long range target...

    Opinions please: Pros/Cons of .375 Ruger vs .375 H&H

The .375H&H can easily be loaded to 9.3X62 velocities or even .38-55 levels or up to full throttle. It’s a great ctg, well deserving of its reputation. With a 270gr bullet it shoots as flat as the .30-06 using a 180gr bullet. It’s a fine ctg.

    45-70 for dangerous game?

I wonder how that crescent butt plate would feel with Marlin/Winchester loads? Sure is beautiful though.

    45-70 for dangerous game?

I’m like Michael, this thread is a hoot. Never been to Africa except in books, but I live & hunt in dangerous game areas. Most of the area I hunt & enjoy off season is grizzly country. You’ll have to talk long & hard to convince me they aren’t dangerous. Though not officially a game animal here...

thats why I dont like doubles (have one)

This is prudent for any game animal. Deer have been lost when the hunter thought they were dead, they got up & ran off.

    9.3x62mm vs. .375 H&H Mag

I once asked a PH how well the .375 H&H is thought of in Africa. He replied very well, it preforms above the paper ballistics. I will not get into the debate between the 9.3X62, .375 H&H, nor the .35 Whelen. All are fine ctgs. & (as always) with proper placement, will give a good account of them...

    45-70 for dangerous game?

I like the .45-70, it’s a great ctg. It can be loaded up & down from fun to pain. There was mention of the #1 in .45-70, that’s a different beast altogether, I have loaded the 500gr Hornaday to a chronograph 1800fps, those were not fun & actually broke the reticule in a Redfield scope. I had the...

You are going to like that 95. The Skinner sights are both fast to use & accurate. Remove the aperture & bingo you have a very fast ghost ring sight. You’re going to like it. congratulations!
