Thank you for everyones opinions on this thread. Just some feedback. I got the Z8 1-8 x24. It is amazing. As stated before some of my hunts will be longer distances around 300m. I shot to 400m on gongs today without any issue. The glass is crystal clear and the gongs perfectly visible...

Tr True, that is what put me off the Zeiss V8. 36mm tube - could not find rings that will attach directly to the CZ receiver in RSA. So the only way to mount is with extra bases on top of receiver. Adds another layer of possible problems and adds height.

I agree to an extent, but normally with 10x the scope gets an ocular bell. I prefer the straight tube from a traditional point of view so if 8 x can get me there I do not necessarily want to go bigger.
