Start of the 2024 season and a fine celebration of Seth and Julie's 15th wedding anniversary - hunt and vacation in South Africa. Jason and I had an absolute blast with these fine folks from Nevada.
Cape leopard in the coastal Eastern and Western Cape mountains are generally smaller. They’ve adapted to survive in their environment. Every now and again this theory is tested however. There was a leopard killed with dogs in the Grahamstown area a couple of years ago that was over 100kg, some...
Thank you for your interest. We hunt a total area of 320,000 acres in the Eastern Cape.
I’ll limit my description to the area where we hunt the majority of our spiral slam species.
Our main lodge Karoo Wild Lodge is on our 11,000 contiguous acres boundary high fenced property. We hunt good...
Good morning Samson
We have avaialability and would love to have you hunt with us in the Eastern Cape. Please PM me your email address and I will quote you for your hunt.

The topic has been well covered. There's no worse feeling for a PH than having to shoot his client's wounded animal. Communication is key but I do believe there are two scenario's where it's non negotiable and it comes down to universal hunting ethics.
1. Where the animal (DG) poses a threat...
Hunt the Spiral Slam in the Karoo, South Africa for 2024. Included are the members of the spiral slam; kudu, eland, nyala and bushbuck. These animals represent the most sought after trophies South Africa has to offer and all of them involve a different hunting challenge. We're flexible regarding...
Fantastic seeing you again Chris. Thanks for organizing the hunt, you and Rhys hunted some fantastic animals. Second klipspringer we've hunted a stone's throw from camp this year! Getting you closer to completing the "Tiny Ten". Next year red duiker and oribi :W A Rifle:
Caesar and his wife Megan and their friends Jason and father, Dan hunted with us in July. Some light hearted banter centred around who would take the largest eland. Dan and Jason hunted two exceptional eland and Jaco (PH) was all smiles. Caesar and I returned with this eland on the 2nd last day...
completely off topic but you may be surprised to know which country draws the most Chinese direct foreign investment, it’s not on Africa

Father and son, William and Todd booked our Plains Game Hunting Package and hunted 20+ trophy species on their 11 day hunt. Some absolutely remarkable shooting from two very accomplished hunters.
Keith's 4th hunt with Karoo Wild Safari. We combined a hunt for some plains game that eluded us on previous safaris and hunted some animals on Kim's first trip. We ended their trip with a 7 day hippo hunt in the Caprivi and a photo safari along the Chobe River.
Thanks again for hunting with us. I struggle even to get my buddies in line for a 4 ball of golf at the local course so have real admiration for you for putting this hunt together. Loved your report and look forward to the Tanzania part. That eland was something wasn’t it! That bush was thick...
Denis last hunted with us in 2016. Was honoured to have him hunting with us again. His buffalo wasn't planned. We were hunting warthog in thick valley bush when the dagga boy burst out the thicket, Denis wasted no time in taking the 30 yard shot.
Rob treated his 11 year old son, Adam to his first plains game hunt. It was fun guiding and seeing the excitement on the youngsters face. Theuns, our tour guide, took Rob's wife and daughter on a 6 day Garden Route and Cape Town tour while the lads hunted.
3 big bulls taken by our clients this past week. Horn length is hardly ever a priority with eland - age, colour and dewlap is almost always more important. This first eland had it all with longest horn measuring 40 1/2 ". SCI was 104". Next two were up there to at 38" and 36". We hunt a lot of...
We've truly been "out hunting" and have neglected to post our season photos. Here goes...
First kudu and very possibly kudu of the year (54 inches) goes to John from Kansas who braved 4 days hunting in the extreme January heat. Fortune favors the brave...
Karoo Wild Safaris operates out of the Karoo, Eastern Cape. Our area is very diverse and supports a large range of species not found in the Limpopo area. I'd be happy to plan a hunt for you in our area.
All good and I’m sure your outfitter will fix it. The paperwork doesn’t have to be filed prior, it’s a standing permit for sable that lies with the property you hunted the sable on.
Sable in the Free State require different paperwork. Your outfitter would’ve re applied with different paperwork. How he came by that is on him. I can assure you, no amount of “greasing the wheels” would have taken place. Environmental laws are strong here and there’s a definite paper trail...
