    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

I'm getting around MOA. The rifle is more able than me, I'm still not over the bruising and beating I get shooting it off the bench!

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

I finally got to the range and put a few projectiles over the chronograph. Keep in mind AR2209 is a slowish powder for this cartridge but with the current powder shortage all I can get; so this cartridge has more potential than what I show here. Rifle: Sako Grizzly Barrell length: 20 inches...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Hi Petrovic, if you cannot find commercially made dies a gunsmith can make them for you; they would need a 9.3x64 chamber reamer. Best regards, D :)

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Yes there is nothing new under the sun. I agree Sako has gone down hill. Since Beretta took over the walnut has gotten better but the overall designs have gone down hill, to a pont now they have totally lost the plot!

Sure Bruce, I agree with what your saying. But if your comments are meant to relate to my reasoning I reckon you have missed my point?

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Hi Bob. The 35 Whelen is a good comparison, the 338 win Mag not so much as it is a very different beast, powder capacity, action length etc. However the 338-06 would be a closer comparison I have one and push a 200gr projectile @ 2800fps. On my readings across the interwebs a fair bit of...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

This being my first Model 85 I had read on the web this was a problem with some rifles. Purchasing this rifle I considered this extraction issue as a potential cause of the greatly reduced price. However this rifle extracts perfectly fine. Also from what I have read the extraction issue is an...

    The last pair of binoculars

+1 Swarovski, Leica, Zeiss. But I wouldn't care to rank them. As Alpha glass they are all exceptional and it really does come down to personal preference; everybody's eyes are different. Also form factor of weight, size and ergonomics is a lesser but important consideration in any given...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Thanks. The rifle was an impulse buy, it was advertised second hand and bundled with dies, brass and projectiles, worked out to be about half the retail price. It points and balances very well for me and as for weight it is light enough for the chambering without being too difficult to manage.

    Howdy

I can do some basic comparison in the next month or so when we get to the range again, but I don't expect too much of a difference. A mate I shoot with has the 9.3x62, we handload the same pills and same powder, the only difference is I have a 21 inch barrel and he has a 23 1/4. My take on the...

Ammo for the 9.3x66 is easy as I roll my own. Beretta Aus. has Sako brass.

    Thanks :) No I dont own a 243Win. I have a good cross section of chamberings: 222Rem, 223Rem, 25-06Rem, 260Rem, 280AI, 308Win, 338-06ASq and a 9.3x66 Sako. I know of Ted, he has published in a few of the shooting mags.

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Thanks Bruce. Yes Reloader 15 would be a better choice. I have a good supply of AR2209 and AR2208 As per the pdf linked below there is quite a big gap in the ADI powder burn rates. I will try to get some RE15 but there seems to be a bit of a shortage of things at the moment...

    370 Sako Mag (9.3x66)

Not allot of load data out there for this cartridge so thought I would add experience so far. Recently purchased a second hand Sako 85 Grizzly in 9.3x66Sako. I'm working up the loads for AR2209 and Woodleigh 286gr PP projectiles (Sako Brass and Federal LR primers). I worked up from 66 to 70gr...

    Howdy

Hello from Toowoomba Australia. Long time lurker, lots of good conversation here. I don't hunt as much as I like and make pretty good biltong. I grew up reading Capstick, Ruark and other such stories so I'm bit of a romantic nostalgic.
