I bought a 20g 870 Special Field when they first came out. Great grouse gun but couldn't hit a rabbit with it to save my life. I think the English stock prevented a good, fast, pivot downward to get on a rabbit. I'm sorry I ever sold it and never see them for sale. Good luck!

Bob, I was told the Hornady XTP 240 was only good for 1400fps or so (.44 Mag). I'll try and get some of those if you think they can go that high. Thank you.

Further testing of all 50 bullets shows an overall average weight of 300 grains with all but 4 falling in the 299-301 range. Those four weighed 302 (3) AND 303 (1). Concentricy will be checked at the range!

I weighed 10 of them and they ranged from 299 - 303 grains.

Just following with an update on my post regarding "factory second" bullets from Midway. I just received my order (300 grain .375) and after closely inspecting all 50 bullets, I can not find anything that resembles a "blemish".

We had them on a lot of deer rifles in PA back in the day (1960 - 1970s). Mainly for rain or snow issues . I still have couple laying around. The Weaver ones held zero pretty good.
