    Barnes tsx

According to my little experience with these bullets, the 270 grains TSX fired at 2600 fps from a 375 H&H will start to expand even in an Impala.

    Barnes tsx

I've seen the effect of a .470 Nosler flat point solid through a buffalo. It's like if you'd drive a pencil through the flesh without no other damages. Not even a little bruising around the hole. Solids are good if they break major bones. Otherwise, they are about as effective as a pencil. I'll...

    That's true for any bullet.

    Barnes tsx

I shot 2 impalas with the 270 grains Barnes TSX. The second one was shot through the ribs behind the shoulder. He ran may be 50 yards before collapsing. According to the exit hole, it was clear the bullet had expand. May be not fully, but enough to cause enough internal damages to the lungs.

    Barnes tsx

If passing trough is a potential problem on buffalo, try a 270 grains instead. From my experience of one buffalo, bullet from a frontal shot will end in the paunch, and bullet on broadside shot will stop in the hide of the other side. That's what I'll use on my next hunt. They also perform...

Limpopo South Africa 2022 Winchester Model 70 Safari Express 375 H&H Handloaded Barnes 270 grains TSX. First shot was centered on a directly facing buffalo at 90 yards. Bullet entered the hole in the chest and ended in the paunch. He made may be 100 yards, bleeding profusely. We sent the...

My BRNO 602 shoots the Hornady 270- grains all over the paper, but the 270 TSX easily around 1 inches. It's worth to try a few combination.

Desirable Powders For 300 Grain Swift A-frames, For .375 H&H Magnum?

73,5 is plenty accurate. I have no problem hunting with a load that gave me 1,5" groups. :)

HELP.. Imr 4350 Swift Aframe 300 Grain .375 h&h Load Data

I've seen some IMR 4350 loads with 300 grains bullets going up to 80 or 81 grains but they are in older manual. Like said earlier, a chronograph is really your best friend when developing handloads. A 125$ Chrony will do the job just fine.

375h&h guidance - bullets, dies, and brass

The 270 grains TSX is also a great bullet to work with. Plenty of penetration on buffalo.

Happy with .375 H&H load results

You’re lucky! Sometimes it’s is not as easy. For example, my BRNO ZKK 602 shoots all over the paper with the Hornady 270 grains SP. I tried 3 or 4 powders and the best I got was 3-4 inches groups. I finally gave up with this bullet.

Barnes .375 300gr TSX load work-up - Which powder to choose?

I've work a bit with the now discontinued IMR 4451 in the 375 H&H I tried one load of 74 grains with the 270 TSX seated at 3.600" and it gave me 1,2" for three shot. Hodgdon lists his Max at 74,7 grains. With a 300 grains I vould start somewhere around 72,5 grains (this is my best load with...

    Still worth buying a 338 WinMag if I own a 375?

I shot my biggest moose with a 270 Winchester and 150 Grand Slam bullets. He was dead within 50 yards. The one in my avatar was shot with the same receipe. Dead within a few steps. I've also shot moose with .50 caliber ML, 30-06, 300WM and 3 with the .338WM. All good moose killers. In a month...

    Still worth buying a 338 WinMag if I own a 375?

I own both. My 338WM is a Ruger 77 MKII and my 375 is a BRNO ZKK 602. They are what I call "dream rifle". When I have the Ruger in hands, I just start dreaming about grizzly bears. When I have my 375 in hands, I start dreaming about Cape Buffalo.

    BRNO ZKK 602 375 H&H loads?

I tried a 3 shots groups with the Barnes 270 grains TSX. These bullets never disapoint! 74 grains of IMR 4451 and a Rem 91/2 primer gave a 1,2" group. No doubt it can do better with a bit of development. The TSX is a great bullet that makes any PH smile. The good old discontinued Hornady 300...

2388 fps vs 2641 fps would it make a difference

At 300 yards, if both loads are sighted in at 200, the 2388 fps load will land at -12,26 inches, and the 2641 fps load will land at -9,7 inches. There's less than 3/4 of an inch difference in trajectory at 100 yards. That's 2,56 inches of difference at 300. Less than MOA. If that can give...

2388 fps vs 2641 fps would it make a difference

The 2388 fps load will probably penetrate a bit deeper than the 2641 fps loads. Faster bullets loose energy faster because they open more rapidly. With the same shot placement, the buffalo will die from both load. Go with the load you have the most confidence in it. It's not the foot pounds...

    375 H&H vs 416 Rem

A 375 with the right bullet is perfectly capable of taking anything on earth, as is a 416 I think the 375 is a bit more versatile and user friendly. Proper bullet and shot placement is the key. :)

First try this morning with my BRNO ZKK602 375 H&H. It's a really beautiful rifle you can see on another post. I've read that most CZ/BRNO rifles shoot at their best with amunitions on the low velocity spectrum. Mine seems not to be an exception since best group of the morning was with 72,5...

Hunting SA or "Wild" Africa - Which is Better

I hunted buffalo last summer. My first dream was to hunt the "wild" Africa. After looking at various opportunity, I realised I just did not have the money for a hunt in Zambia, for example. Carrying ammo to Africa

Some airline will allow the ammos in the same case as the rifle, some won't but will allow them in a locked container in your luggage, some will need them to be in a box and considered as a separate luggage. I went in Africa with 50 rounds and gave the remaining to my PH. He was happy and It...

It has probably been said but every airline company have it's own restrictions. Look at them carefully and advise every airline company at least a monthe prior departure that's you'll carry a rifle and amunitions. Dealing with wounded Cape buffalo

I did not read the entire thread but will do it. Here's my story. I hunted buffalo one time in my life.
