Range Report for NEW TO ME .375 H&H Magnum

Congrats on your 375, I used Rem 700 in 375 H&H to take Lion, leopard and Cape Buff to name some, I also love the 700 action have numerous rifles, try the Swift A Frame as I handload and for mine it shot them the best even the Remington Factory A Frame , also I replaced the stock with Bell &...

    Delta ban on Trophies

Sad day to be a sportsman but I shipped Lion and bunch stuff by ship so looks like back to that again, unless we can get them to back up better keep SCI, NRA and the rest dues current/ we need a large collective voice to be heard over the drum of the left and the anti's

How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

Well at least we provided some amusement from the Lion debacle LOL, Accepted on my behalf as well, the democrat comment has all my friends who read but not post rolling in laughter so that was a good one. Heck I may use that one some of my friends so good luck and I am sure no matter what bullet...

How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

Jerome Thanks for all your hard work and you always have done a great job keeping this site civil and the #1 site for information on hunting Africa so sorry for the disruption, sometimes our passion for our sport clouds our judgment and humor can be misconstrue to be a insult, not my intention...

How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

You should have been prepared for the negative response, it is the standard answer on most hunting forums it someone ask to shoot a lighter than designed bullet for caliber at larger animals by people who have years of shooting & big game experience. Just like if you Google the round 110 grains...

How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

You just want to be right so you can be, the reason I brought up 257 because you quoted that validated your reason for 110, I been loading 7mm bullets for bench and hunting a long time in 7mm mag, 280AI and others and you choose to ignore facts, misquote so now I am done as well. just for a...

How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

You seem to be locked in to 110 grains even though you had some great advice to use heavier bullet, the 257 Roberts is 25 caliber as you know and the normal weights for that ranges from 75 to 110 grains were the 7mm range of 140 to 168 bullet weight. The only thing you are gaining is small...

How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

Mountain Reedbuck in Free States with Spiral Horn Safaris, the 150TTSX stoned him at little over 400 yards but I hunted with Louis before so he was cool with me taking the shot.

How big an animal would you take with this caliber?

I use the 7mm 150 grain TTSX in both my 7Mag and 280AI, Run close 3200 FPS rather use the heavy bullet as I used the 280AI (7mm) to take everything from Klipspringer to Kudu in SA using 150 TTSX one shot nothing moved after hit. Most PH do not want you taking over 300 yards shots so why give up...

Opinions on Sako actions for dangerous game rifle

On my lion hunt my buddy bought a older Sako 375 H& H but new in the box and I worked up the handload for it, preformed flawless on Lion and Cape buffalo, but so did my Remington 700 375, I leave the feed thing to experts but the Sako loved Barnes 300 grain and swift a frames when I worked up...

    Who reloads.....and why?

Started back in the 70's for savings but accuracy and better bullet selection was the man driving force, only way back then to get Nosler and others now I compare it to fly fishing and why tie your own when you can buy about everything well it just a obsession and pride of taking a great animal...

    Airfare? IAD vs ATL

I flown the 777 atl both extended and BC with Delta to SA as well as SAA out Washington BC , the $$$ you save flying SAA in BC about 5500.00 compared to 1500.00 for Delta coach is pretty good value to me, you are well rested and the service was better on SAA then Delta. Delta went up on the BC...

    Spotting Scope Opinions

I have the leopold 15-45, no issues on target or hunting, agree with the tripod it comes with too tall for bench and too short for hunting so save your money just buy scope, never had any fussy issues with mine as I use it abunch for 500 yard target stuff and elk hunting
