    . 416 Ruger

I dont mean to sound argumentative. But I believe there is no way in hell a 20" barrel on a .416 Ruger. The .375 Ruger, exceeds the H&H without over-pressure. The .416 Ruger however, is not as efficient as the .375, and especially not in a 20" tube. Was the chrono at 2 feet ? What kind of speed...

    375 H&H Question

If you want to use 300 grain for everything, get you some A-Frames or Weldcores. If you'd like a little flatter trajectory, get the Hornady Outfitter with the 250 GMX. That paired with your Accupoint scope would be a brilliant setup!

    375 H&H Question

I had some when I first got the .375 Ruger. Fired into water jugs, they came apart faster than a Nosler Ballistic Tip.

    375 H&H Question

I'm using 300 grain VRG-3 Peregrine for everything on my .375 Ruger. I would choose a Swift A-Frame over a Partition. They look similar in construction, but are far from twins. The Partition has a thinner front jacket, to promote rapid expansion and "bang flops". Whereas the A-Frame is built...

    .460 Weatherby whats your opinion

Not me! I caught hell for hunting whitetail with a .338 Win Mag, buts its what I enjoyed. I now use my .375 in that role. If you took my post as bashing, you're wrong.

    .460 Weatherby whats your opinion

The point I was trying to make, is there is plenty of scientific data to show, after 2600, penetration can actually be less than the same bullet at 2400. So trying to shoot something with the largest cannon you can temporarily shoulder before it weighs you to the ground, isn't always the best...

    .460 Weatherby whats your opinion

As much as I love boomers, this one is far too much for anything realistic. Impact velocity higher than 2600, no matter the bullet, penetration suffers. Anything above 2600 is just a waste, and beating on your for nothing.

    . 416 Ruger

I want one to go with my. 375, but non are for sale. So I'm mainly interested in your load work. I've heard the .416 Ruger has to be twisted up to max pressure to match the other. 416's. So I'm definitely interested in both 20" and 23" load data. So let's discuss the lesser loved of the Ruger...

Can the tables be copy and pasted. I've messaged Jerome to see if he could fix it so I can edit my posts until I can get the list finished. Anyone think Lehigh belongs there, or should I keep it to bullets that would be used in Africa? I've left out the 350 MK for the same reason.

  49. Viral_SIGness

    I think they should make a 285gr .375" TTSX/GMX/E-Tip

Well, I actually load my 300 grain to 2600. I was just using the modest velocity to show how well it would fly. The LRX is made to expand down to 1600 I believe. So at 50 yards I would think it would lose its petals, but I may be wrong.
  50. Viral_SIGness

    I think they should make a 285gr .375" TTSX/GMX/E-Tip

We all know, mono bullets of lighter weight will penetrate the same as a heavier lead bullet, because they don't shed weight. But 250/260 grains, I believe is more to satisfy velocity nuts. So, I did some calculations. Barnes bullets generally gain .001 in BC for every grain of bullet weight...
