    History of the Krieghoff Teck?

I'm curious if anyone knows the history of the Krieghoff Teck O/U shotguns and combination guns. Production years and numbers, what niche in the market the guns were designed for, whether they were ever significantly exported outside of Germany, and so on. Thanks in advance!

8x57 IS RWS or Lapua Brass Sources in the US?

Just to follow up, have you ever done business with German Gun Imports of Mobile, AL? Their website mentions that they sell RWS 8x57 IS brass: http://www.german-gun-imports.com/Ammunition,-bullets,-brass-and-supplies/

    Pivot QD scope mounts

Bumping this thread: do you all think pivot mounts are something that could be installed without gunsmithing? I'm considering a Rusan pivot mount and would rather not have to deal with going to a gunsmith when they're rather backed up currently.

    Woodleigh 68Bs in the US?

I checked Woodleigh's US distributors and none of them carry the 68B .311" 130gr 68Bs, which Woodleigh lists as a new product on their website's bullet list. Has anyone in the US been able to get these bullets?

Scope suggestion for Zastava M70 in 8x57?

Not only did I end up buying the M70, I also bought a M85 in 7.62x39. So, that settles the scope debate. The M85 will get a 1-6 and the M70 will get a 2-12.

Scope suggestion for Zastava M70 in 8x57?

Depends on the property I'm on. Last year, I mostly hunted clear cuts that were about 200-400 yards across. That's about as far as my shooting abilities allow for. Edit: between cuts is usually dense brush; legal shooting hours are a half hour before dawn to a half hour after sunset.

Scope suggestion for Zastava M70 in 8x57?

Hi all: I'm probably going to buy a Zastava M70 bolt action in 8x57 soon. The gun is a little older, judging from the receiver being marked "YUGOSLAVIA" rather than "SERBIA." I'm mostly going to use the rifle for hunting here in New England. I'm debating between a 1-6, 1-8, 2-12, or 2-16. I'd...

8x57 IS RWS or Lapua Brass Sources in the US?

Hi all: With the current ammo situation and my recent acquisition of a couple surplus Mausers, I'm going to start handloading. Does anyone know of where I can find RWS 8x57 brass? If not now, who should restock it? I found Huntington Die Specialists, but they have every classic European caliber...

Verney-Carron Impact NT in the US?

Hi all: I have some questions about the Verney-Carron Impact NT series of semi-auto rifles. This seems to be the best place to ask because of Verney-Carron's line of safari rifles and high end shotguns. I am in the US and considering purchasing one of the Impact NTs early next year. First...

What would have been available for scopes in African gun shops in the 1960s and 1970s?

Thanks for the info! I was curious about Schmidt and Bender because they were founded in 1957. At the time, Kahles was making the Helia and the Helia Super, correct? Is there a European equivalent to this website with old scopes for sale? https://www.vintagegunscopes.com/

What would have been available for scopes in African gun shops in the 1960s and 1970s?

Very helpful, thank you! So something like the Weaver K4 would be appropriate. How common were variable scopes back then?

What would have been available for scopes in African gun shops in the 1960s and 1970s?

Thanks for the tip; looks like Peter Hathaway Capstick was particularly fond of Bushnell scopes.

What would have been available for scopes in African gun shops in the 1960s and 1970s?

Hi all, first post, have a question: If someone were to step into a African gun shop, say in Rhodesia or South Africa, around the time of the 1960s and 1970s, what brands of scope would have been available? I'm guessing brands like Zeiss Jena and Meopta would've been unavailable, or at least...
