It looks like Worldwide Hunting Books has copies of both the limited edition and trade edition:

Ludo Wurfbain sold Safari Press (including the inventory) to Rowman Littlefield last summer. If you search Rowman Littlefield's site, you can find a bunch of Safari Press books. I'm not sure of their plans for the future and Mr. Wurfbain didn't know when I talked to him in January. I also...
Recoil energy is not equal to the bullet energy.
Recoil momentum = bullet momentum (or more accurately recoil momentum would equal bullet momentum + charge momentum)
You're assuming recoil energy = bullet energy; this would be extremely painful.
I enjoyed reading this about a year ago, near the "beginning" of the pandemic. I posted this short comment about the book on another website:
I just finished reading this book and enjoyed it. Robert F. Jones (1934-2002), was a journalist / sportswriter, novelist, and columnist for Shooting...
I was digging around in a box of never-used reloading supplies and found I have a set of CH dies labeled "8mm Mauser" and 20 rounds of 8mm Mauser brass. I bought these as part of a lot 20 years ago. If these would be of interest, send me a PM. Likely one of the experts here will know more...
Raamw - I'm very sorry to hear this story, especially as I am now waiting for a Greenland muskox to come to the US. I hunted there in March of 2020; my muskox and an arctic hare were received at the Danish taxidermist in July of 2020. They have cleaned the skull, "wet-tanned" the cape, and...
Well, the region I'm looking at that (I think!) may have more legs than can be otherwise accounted for with 5 zebras is here.
But, I might be wrong! I only ever counted 5 zebras before.
They are Hartmann's mountain zebra; I took the photo in Kaokoland, Namibia in 2017. Unlike most puzzles, there's no absolutely-known-to-be-correct answer! I would have said 5, but I think there might be extra legs to the right of the group. So maybe 6?
I apologize if I'm ruining anyone's fun here, but I still can't see 10. I can see 7 for sure (marked in red), one other possibility (in green). And I think there might be two in the red circled portion next to the green. Anyone care to show where the ones I'm missing are?
I've been waiting to send mine off until an October trip to Norway was definitively cancelled. I'll send it tomorrow. I see the National Passport Processing Center just went from Phase 1 to Phase 2 today.
Further checking shows...
You can hunt seals in Sweden; I've talked to one outfitter at the Swedish Game Fair - Roslagens Jakt & Vilt. They hunt in the Stockholm archipelago - that is, the islands outside of Stockholm. Here's a video that will give you an idea:
The video is in Swedish, as is their website. You can...
To follow up on my earlier post, it looks like Denis Lyell did live in Peebles in the mid-1920s. Looking at the text of African Adventure-Letters from Famous Big Game Hunters, letters to Lyell from Abel Chapman (July 1926 and April 1928) and and J.G. Millais (June 1928) suggest that he was...
Interesting question. I think the signature does look like Lyell's, but I'm not sure that he lived in Peebles (Scotland), though he did live in Comrie (Scotland). The preface of his 1935 book, African Adventure - Letters from Famous Big Game Hunters, closes with "Denis D. Lyell. Rossdhal...
I hunted there in 2017 with Thormählen and Cochran, in the Anabeb Conservancy. I hunted Gemsbok, Springbok, Greater Kudu, and Hartmann's Mountain Zebra. While out hunting, I saw plenty of ostrich and giraffe (but wasn't hunting them) and a single elephant.
