I have an Alaskan in .416 Ruger. I think the previous post on th stocks is correct. Green laminate on guide gun and black plastic and stainless on Alaskan.
I recently picked up a Ruger Alaskan .416. I’m looking for a mount for a red dot sight. So far all I’ve found are the Ruger rings. What I need is a picatinni rail.
Is this really the place for this discussion? This poor guy is trying to sell a rifle not create a space for a diatribe on bullet failure/success. I just want to see if it’s still available.
I tried to find load data for this round and really limited. But, If you look at the case dimensions, it’s very close to the .444 Marlin. Based on that, it should really be no stretch to get 2100 with a 300-325 gr and 1900-2000 with a 350. Very interesting round in a classic rifle. I’m really...
Mine shoots great. I experimented with a red dot but the iron sights work fine for what I use it for. The recoil seems worse than my .375, it’s retry light.
I’m still trying to decide if I want to keep this Sabatti 9.3x74r or not. It’s not a Cabelas gun. It shoots great md has beautiful wood work. If omeone made the right offer I may let it go.
I haven’t seen any 300 of heavier bullets for 9.3. I have a 9.3x74r double. It’s regulated with Hornady 285gr bullets. I have shot some of the cheap Privi Partizan Ammo And it’s close enough to practice with.
I have that exact same rifle, right down to the “200 years..”. I have had it since college and I’m now 60 y/o. Mine prefers 100 grain hornady bullets. I have killed more deer than I can count with it. You made a great purchase.
