Wow...mine has had a lot of rounds through it and it's as solid as the day I bought it. Dropped a number of times, once off a horse, banged it into trees and brush, and it's just kept on going....would bet just about all manufactures have some failures, even with the Blazer R8's.

Have the 300 win mag and 9.3x62....if I could get a 375 H&H for the Helix I wouldn't need anything else...great platform.

Asked for a 375 H&H when I bought mine...they said Nope...real shame

They weren't very accommodating when I had a problem with my watch, so that's my experience with Rolex....acted like I was bothering them when I needed to have it fixed, kept trying to sell me a new one. And, No, you can't go wrong with those chocolates :)

Really wish Merkel would make a 375 H&H barrel for the RX Helix, really like the straight pull mechanics of my rifle, though it is pretty finicky on ammo where my son's R8 isn't. They make a 9.3x62 barrel for it, and there isn't that much difference between that and a 375. Guess I'll just have...

That black case is the one I wanted to get but there weren't any available...if and when I get a R8, I'll do the custom Pelican option you suggested...the second case is similar to the one I got my son, just the double rifle barrel version...it's a sweet case but don't know as I'd trust it all...

Can't beat an Omega....every time I go into their store here it's all I can do to leave my wallet in my pocket....Rolex can keep their watches, service absolutely sucks and, IMHO, the Omega is a better watch.

I bought the Blazer case for him....it met all the airline rules for checking, unless they changed them again...

That's an awesome setup...jealous :) I bought my son his R8 in 300 win mag figuring he could add the 375 barrel down the road....put it in the Blazer case that holds two barrels and scopes...don't need more than that....

Ran the Sig Sauer premium monometal rounds, 165 grain, through my Helix with zero issues. Definitely the Federal Fusion rounds that were causing the ejection issues. The Sigs spit out the side like they should as does the Barnes I recently tried.

Picked up an O/U rifle in that caliber last fall....it's fantastic.

Agree that they aren't exclusive for "some", but would have to say that the vast majority aren't anywhere near as accurate with the large big bores than they would be, with a little practice, with the the medium to smaller caliber big bores (375, 404, 416). You really don't need more than those...

I'd say too many folks think bigger is going to do more good than smaller with better accuracy. I've never found that to be the case and would much rather shoot a smaller caliber very accurately than a larger bore less so. A well placed 375 H&H round with a confident follow up, if needed, is...

A 257 Weatherby firing 110-120 grain rounds is a powerful punch to anything it hits. I used 90 grain mono-metal rounds on white tail and whatever direction the bullet was fly is the way the fell like a domino.

British Airways canceled my flight in mid-April this morning :(

My flights are mid-April so not panicking, going to wait and see what happens between now and March then make decisions at that time. Hopefully this will start to die off by then, but will be what it will be I guess.

What if you are simply stopping in the UK returning from SA enroute to the US, does that quarantine apply there as well or just for UK citizens returning home?

Hope the other airlines don't follow along with this. British Airways is still open booking to SA from what I could see on their site tonight. Hope you can get a refund from United and possibly book on another airline.

Thank you very much!! I spoke with my PH and he assured me getting the covid test won't be an issue. Very excited for my first trip to Africa and praying our new president doesn't shut travel down to SA.

My PH said not a problem...thank goodness....so as of now I'm going. Unless dementia Joe imposes restrictions on US citizens, which wouldn't surprise me in the least.

semi-weighted is where I'm going when I order mine....what I put on my son's...semi-wieghted fluted version has the the better barrel mass but only weighs a few ounces more than the standard barrel.

The mono-metal bullets were made for the 257 Weatherby (or vise-versa)....fantastic pairing of rifle and ammo.

Assume this is from the 3-14 version of the scope? Wondering what advantage the 5-20 has, if any. Don't normally shoot past 200-250 yards and that buck is sitting at 256 yards clear as day :) Guessing that is full magnification?
