Botswana leopard with hounds this past September 2023. I went with Nels Safaris. I can agree with Hunter-Habib’s post.

I was just in South Africa in September and experienced the load shedding. The outfitter is trying to go 100% solar and wind in the future so he doesn’t have to count on his government and their policies.

The leopard backstrap was very good, almost a little on the bland side. Not as tender as prime beef but very palatable. I have also eaten mountain lion and bobcat here in the States. The leopard was much better than the mountain lion. I ate the giraffe at The Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi...

Favorite plains game meat - giraffe. Favorite dangerous game meat - leopard. I have not tried lion yet. One of Theodore Roosevelt’s regrets is that he never tried lion backstrap.
