Phil I have not shot an Eland with the AB but would with out any hesitation. I have shot really big moose with them and never had any issues.

My 300wby with 180 accubonds likes the IMR7828 the best and shots sub moa groups out of my ruger #1. I have taken most of my plains game with this combo.

I still have to go with the Accubond. I have had excellent results on all the game I've shot with the 180's including plains game and they produce excellent groups in my rifles.

On plains game the PHs I've hunted with only carried a gun when we were in DG territory for a just in case scenario, or we were after DG itself. I wouldn't want a PH to shoot any of my game unless extremely necessary.

This is why I think it is better to have mounts done here. You just have more control of whats happening and more avenues of recourse for holding someone responsible if problems arise.

I'll tell you there is not many things as unnerving as some body thats unsafe with a firearm. There is no animal worth getting someone shot or hurt. Commonsense needs to be applied on this issue in the field based on the circumstances, unfortunately a lot of people have very little!!
