K.S. Arms Edmonton Review of Custom 338-378 They Built for me

Best bet is to call Mike at KS and get him to price out what you want done. Something as simple as the three leaf rear and hooded ramp front with white dot adjustable post can change the cost by 600 vs a single sight and simple front sight.

Of course you will because your cultural superiority knows no bounds. I won't respond to your. further provocations because there is just zero chance any other point of view is ever going to make a dent in your unassailable superiority to the rest of the world. PUTZ X 100.

The places I go all the time, in my home area, I get great service and great food. That is why I go back, and I do tip them becuase of it. That said, I travel a lot and eat in a great many restaurants. It can be many months before I am back in the same restaurant. I have NEVER seen the same...

I agree. Have gone to zero tip for all, like I posted above. I refuse to be held hostage to the atrocious business practices of these businesses. I plain DON'T CARE how pissed off the waitress is. Toolate for her to do anything about it but scowl. If she had really wanted a tip, she would have...

I seek the advice of the brain trust - Of lefties

I have rifles on most of the LH actions made. The CZ is a good choice, I also like the Zastavas if you want another Mauser option. The MKV in LH is a great and tremendously strong action. The early Sakos, pre model 85 and pre Berretta ownership, as well as current Tikkas are all an excellent...

K.S. Arms Edmonton Review of Custom 338-378 They Built for me

K.S. Arms built me a 338-378 Express Rifle on a Left Hand MKV Weatherby action. The rifle turned out beautiful. High gloss blued barrel, 3 Leaf express sights, Pearl Bead, Ramp front sight, glassed into the original Weatherby stock. The barrel is one of their Chrome Moly, cut rifle, hand lapped...

That was kind of my point. Tipping a cabbie or Uber driver has always made zero sense to me. Very few get out and open doors or the trunk and even fewer help with bags, so outside of driving me to my destination, which I am paying a fairly large fare for already, why would their service warrant...

You hoped to get an American because they are big tippers, but did you and the other drivers give them superior service because they were big tippers? Or was the big tip just a bonus.

I did it! I bit the bullet..,, you wont believe it!

Fun gun. I like muzzle stuffers, and the doubles are lots of fun. If you want a cartridge option for not much more money try the Baikal SXS in 45-70. Have owned a few over the years, they are a blast and they have barrel adjustments so you can regulate it yourself. I had no trouble getting mine...

This whole diversion into restaurants is sort of off topic, but I think the hunting part is well covered, so I will play too. Here in Alberta, restaurant prices have risen by double to triple in just the last 2 years alone. Part of the increase is food prices, but a much, much bigger cause is...

Thought our .405 Win guys might get a kick out of this...

I did the same thing. The components for loading the 405 were just too hard to get and too darned expensive. The 30-06 makes a great lever gun for all round hunting. If I ever come across reasonable priced 405 fodder or brass, I might then buy the gun but not the other way round.

Tipping is still completely voluntary almost everywhere I go. That said, restaurant meals have doubled over the last 2 years, and the minimum suggested tip on the machine now runs 18% or 20% with choices all the way to 35%. I refuse to tip on those machines, 1 - because doubling the meal cost...

Need Some 338-378 WBY Brass To Feed A Needy Child

One other point, it is very easy to neck up from 30-378 to 338-378 or 378, just run it through the 338 FL or Neck dies. Very handy as the most common brass, especially once fired factory ammo, seems to be the 30-378, at least up here in Canada.

Need Some 338-378 WBY Brass To Feed A Needy Child

I have always had trouble finding 338-378. However 30-378, 378 and 460 Bee is everywhere so I just neck up or down as needed. There is also a lot of good once fired for way cheaper than factory new, if that makes any difference to you. 460 to 338-378 Die sequence -378 seater, 378 FL, 338...

7x57 - long throat chambering question

Throat the gun to SAMII specs. You do NOT want a round that jams the bullet into the lands, too many potential problems from feeding to extraction to pressure in the heat. For a Hunting load I start .015 off the lands, load up 3 rounds starting just above min and going up .5 grains at a time...

    The regulation process begins

The targets show a gun with pretty darn good regualtion. Unfortunately they also show evidence of you reacting to the recoil. I would suggest you find a way to shoot that rifle with a good shoulder protector like a Past and the ability to rock with the recoil. I would bet that if you filmed you...

You are completely incorrect about that. If a company or even an individual has the right export documentation they can legally ship out of country. The regulation process begins

If you are having problems with unburned powder try switching to the Federal 215 primers and put a good crimp on the bullet. It will give you much better ignition and a full burn. The short barreled 45-70 is another round that greatly benefits from Mag primers and a good crimp.

    The regulation process begins

Cast bullets and Trail Boss loads make wonderful practice rounds with very low recoil. A guy can get in a lot of shooting practice for low cost and no shoulder pain. They also make great loads for shooting hogs, so you get live target and quick reload practice. I use Trail Boss and Cast in a lot...

Anyone else use their 416 on Plains Game?

Take the big gun and have fun. I used to have a 460 Bee in a LH MKV custom rifle, shot everything from longer range targets, running targets to gophers, deer, pigs, Black Bear, Moose and Elk with it. Why, because I could. What is the point of owning guns you never get to use. I handloaded it my...

Trying to choose which caliber for a new double rifle

Most people can easily afford to buy and store enough components to load 500 to 1000 rounds of all of their usual hunting cartridges. For most guys that is a lifetime supply of ammo. Most would find it a real challenge in terms of cost to buy and store even 200 factory rounds of 460 Bee, 470...

Trying to choose which caliber for a new double rifle

Other than the 375 H&H and the 9.3x74R none of the cartridges being discussed are very common. You either need to lay in a lifetime supply when it is available or better yet load your own. I have NEVER been short of ammo, no matter how uncommon the cartridge, because I can easily make more...

Trying to choose which caliber for a new double rifle

I have owned a few double rifles, as well as drillings and combo guns. Yes, the barrels on a double will not be well regualted past 100 yards in most cases. This does not stop me from using them to 3 and 400 yards. Scoped, I can get great groups by using one barrel at 300 yards. I do not see...

Trying to choose which caliber for a new double rifle

If you can have up to 12 barrels per receiver I would be calling Keighoff to find out for sure about subsequent barrel purchases, what receiver to accommodate each cartridge choice etc. With one Elephant on the list I would not be buying a gun for that specific hunt right now, I would order that...

    Help Shooting Off Sticks

    Help Shooting Off Sticks

I agree, those look like aluminum. I would not use steel snap caps. I make my own snap caps out of brass, a bullet and a fired primer, that way they are as close as possible to the real thing. They are also clearly marked so you know they are duds. Extractors may break with enough use but that...

    Help Shooting Off Sticks

Great part is you found it now with lots of time to replace it. Snap caps aren't needed to protect the firing pin but they really do mimic load and eject way better than just doing it with an empty gun. They also do no damage to your gun so why not use them.
