    8 x 57 Mauser

    30-06 vs 8x57js :) Same same but different... and I realy don't like the 30-06 but it ain't that much different. 7,62×63 - 8x57 = 22,6 :-D

A 98 with controlled feed must always be loaded from the magazine, otherwise you will destroy the bolt over time.

What is it about 404 Jeffery?

404 fits in standard length action. Feeds well. Mild recoil. John ‘Pondoro’ Taylor wrote about it and we all like a good lovestory... 500 is just more then we need...

How do you reload 1 caliber 3 different rifles, same recipe

Use the garand as a collectible and hang it on the wall... Then load for only two rifles. Hunt with the one shooting best groups and have the other one as a backup if shit happens to the first rifle.

    The good old 7.92 x 57 Mauser

You can see that the rifle was built in Sweden. I guessed that it was P-O Stenmark who had built it. Beautiful weapon!

    Husqvarna 1900 in caliber 8x57

8x57is is in my opinion one of the most harmonious cartridges ever made. I hunt only in Sweden and the requirements for a cartridge for hunting wild boar and moose, for example, are that the bullet must be expanding and weigh at least 9g and have an impact energy of at least 2700 Joules at 100...

    .416 isn't grouping well!

No, with the right case fill with powder that rifle went from randomly 8" groups to steady 1" groups. The pressure was just too low when fiered when it was that cold outside. Just avoid min and max loads and start in the middle. Always use premium case brass, primers, powder and bullets when...

    .416 isn't grouping well!

Realy? I have seen it with a .300wm. In summer (25 degree celcius) the groupings were just fine. Even the winter came (below 0 degree celcius) the rifle began to spread all over the target. The chronograph showed us what was wrong.

6.5 x 55 Swede for African plains game

Oh, yes we do :) I hunt with 6,5x55, 8x57is, 9,3x62 atm and I'm building a 404 Jeff. Bring enuff gun they say, shoot placement is what it all comes down to... there simley is no moose that will survive a hit in the lungs, even if the moose runs 200 meter it's dead anyway... he just don't know...

Browning, Mauser or Winchester for renting to US hunters in European trip?

Ok, I'm not from US... I'm from Sweden... Let them use some quality... go for M18 in a caliber with less recoil but the same stopping power like 8x57is :)

    .416 isn't grouping well!

Start inside safe range according to Norma. What brand of brass do you use? If your rifle begins to shoot better on higher loads you may be able to exeed Normas maxload if you have some premium brass... if not, stay on the safe side.

    .416 isn't grouping well!

As Graham Hunter wrote, your load is below minimum load. RL22 is equal to Norma MRP and Norma says 94 grains MRP as a minimum and max 98,5 grains. There you have your problem... try 96 grains RL22 and you will see much better grouping. Don't be scared of the recoil... you might notice the...

    8 x 57 Mauser

Rifles like this one is pretty common here in Sweden. I took a barrel in 8x57js from a husqvarna 640 and put it on a husqvarna 1900. (My gunsmith did the job) Those barrels like long and heavy bullets from 196 grains and up. Mine shoots half inch groups with norma oryx, nosler partition and...
