    CZ Craig Boddington Signature Rifle

If you take a peek at the stock on the CB rifle- those lines appeal to me. Not sure how to describe it- but that’s been a long standing pursuit.

    CZ Craig Boddington Signature Rifle

I’m really only after a .375 H&H. Sometimes the internal maniacal co-pilot starts to veer into 505 Gibbs territory... But mostly I’m trying to be realistic.

    CZ Craig Boddington Signature Rifle

Thanks, Bruce. I’ve been eyeing up that Winchester. I have developed no opionion on the Boddington issue- I’m just interested in that rifle but not paying attention to the man at all.

    CZ Craig Boddington Signature Rifle

I admittedly totally ignorant as to walnut grade and selection. Could you point in the direction of a quality resource on those options?

Have you handled a safari express m70? They seem to be an affordable and reliable option.

    CZ Craig Boddington Signature Rifle

Hey, thanks! How was the stock profile? I’m i talks with a smith who can make the trigger and action work you suggested. He doesn’t work with stocks however. I like the looks of it, but never have I held on to one...

    CZ Craig Boddington Signature Rifle

Yes, I’m not sure about that either. Would you say that rifle is a good one to get into semi-custom big game rifles with, otherwise?

    CZ Craig Boddington Signature Rifle

I’m seriously looking into getting my first big bore and starting out with a preference for the classic CZ 550. The customizations on the Boddington suit me quite well. I’m curious how those match up with other options, like buying a cz 550 and having American Hunting rifles making those same...

    Hello from WI

I think by old, I was thinking 20+ years old. I’ll be looking at even older ones than that also.

    Hello from WI

Why are so many drawn to the CZ after all that? I assume it’s about the tradition and owning a custom rifle if one can afford it? Understandable- some addictions are more costly than others... Oh- and I just checked my local small town sporting goods store. Seems he has a 30-06 Winchester 70...

    Hello from WI

Yes-expensive no doubt. I see the CZ 550 Classic Safari comes in 404. I have a strong liking for the CZ Boddington which comes in 375 H&H, but again, she’s not cheap. Between the standard CZ 550 and Winchester Safari Express- would you go with the Winchester?

    Hello from WI

I appreciate your guidance and the time offered in responding. I hope your adventure is an enjoyable and memorable one. In my recent reading, the 404 Jeffrey is noted as fine and respectable cartridge for Africa. Has a historical patina which I do respect. It’s one I’m considering for my first...

    Hello from WI

Right On. I am a deer hunter, I meant. 30-06 is indeed the caliber I use. I’m thinking of moving to a 375 H&H for hunting white tail and to gain proficiency with an Africa caliber.

    Hello from WI

Has anyone every just dove into the deep side of the pool and gone with 505 Gibbs for their first big fella?

    Hello from WI

One of the best parts has been the hunt for a proper first rifle and caliber.

    Hey from Kevin

I was thinking of going with a CZ550 in a bigger caliber for white tail this year. Looking forward to seeing some pics, and hearing about using it. At least my pals will be able to tell it was me who shot next year with a big bore in the woods. Cheers!
