Personally I would go for a K95. Regarding the caliber there are to many options [emoji16] a light/speedy 6.5x57R and a .30R Blaser for the bigger games? Always liked the 7x57R, could also be handloaded w a lighter/heavier bullet for smaller/bigger game.
Choose a rimmed one that is easily...
The dent below the shoulder I believe was there from the beginning? Prob due to over calibration and/or to much lubricant.
If over calibration the case stretched and cracked when fired.
Did you wipe the brass after firing ? Looks to clean..
Same question: how many reloads ?
I took the 6.5x55 during my trip to SA last year. Took 5 animals w handloaded Norma Oryx 156gr. Had my Sako AV for about 20 years so we are quite familiar with each other :). The animals i shot was warthog, blesbock, impalas and blue wildebeest. Only found 2 bullets. So i am happy and i’m sure...
I use a Zeiss 3-12x56 Victory T* for the last daylight/night hunting, red fox/roe deer and capercaillie. Sometimes I use a QD w AimPoint H2 for moose hunt at close range or other driven hunts. (Have a Sako AV). No problem w point of impact.
