I talked to McMillan a couple of weeks ago about a stock for my Model 70 featherweight 30-06 & 308. They were still doing them at that time? I hope they haven’t discontinued Model 70 inletting?
I hunted eastern Wyoming for mule deer and antelope on private land the last 20 years. Just paid the rancher a modest trespass fee. Unfortunately he has sold the ranch. I love to hunt antelope in Wyoming and will need to find another place now. That’s if I can even draw a tag? Never had a...
Thanks Yancy, do you happen to know your barrels twist rate? I might have to give the CFE 223 a shot if I can find any?
I’ll bet my barrel wouldn’t stabilize those 175’s. But then again who knows?
Bob, Is yours a 10” twist barrel? I would think the 150’s would perform better in in my 12” twist barrel then the longer heavier 165 gr. bullets. However it’s just not the case with several different powders. I haven’t tried the CFE223 though?
I’ve had the best luck with the Nosler accubond 165 and the Barnes 165 ttsx using W748 and WLRM primers. I have a Win mod 70 featherweight 12” twist. For some odd reason it doesn’t like any of the 150 gr loads I’ve tried with various powders.
I have several Americases. They’ve been all over the place. I bought the first one in the late 80’s and it’s still going strong.
I hope they haven’t abandoned the Hunter and firearms industry. I just emailed them and inquired.
I’m not sure if there available in your area but the Christensen Arms Mesa comes close to your requirements. It’s a lot of gun for the money. $1250 US retail. It’s a wonderfully balanced 6.5 Lbs with a 22” threaded barrel. All Cerakoted SS with a fiberglass synthetic stock. Excellent trigger as...
I’ve got a Kimber Caprivi in 375 H&H. It’s one of the most accurate rifle’s in my safe. It shoots 1/2 MOA at 100 yards with Barnes 270 TSX. It’s very comfortable to shoot.
I’ll be there for sure if it’s happening. It just keeps getting bigger and better every year! Even if it ends up a smaller show with less vendors, I’m still going. As far as I see it, I’ll just have more time to chat with the ones that do attend!
That’s probably true for any cartridge. I love the 270 Win. The 6.5 Creedmoor is especially a success due to marketing. I own and love it also. In Africa I’ve primarily used a 300 WBY & 375 H&H. However, I plan on taking my beloved 30-06 on my next trip. If it was strictly legal, I’d take one of...
I own many different brands of rifles and have enjoyed them all. However, over more then 55 years of shooting, I have primarily used the Remington 700 action. Ive hunted on 3 different continents with temperatures ranging below 0 to over 100 degrees and have not had one failure! Remington has...
I have a Kimber Caprivi in 375 H&H that’s flawless. It groups 1/2 MOA with both 300 and 270 Barnes TSX. It ejects perfectly. I love the rifle. After buying the Caprivi, and having such a good experience, I bought a 6.5 Creedmoor Hunter. That rifle grouped like a shotgun no matter what I put...
I’m very sorry to hear this Charlie. I know he was a good friend. Cancer is a terrible disease. I myself have lost family members to cancer. My prayers to his family and close friends.
I have been using Barnes monolithic Bullets for over 25+ years and have not experienced one failure. I’ve used them on 2 African Safaris’s, on hunts in Alaska, Canada and many lower 48 states. I have also had many hunting buddies with me also using Barnes mono Bullets with no failures...
Great prices Marius! I’d jump on this one but April is a little early in the year? Thinking about it anyway? See you at DSC regardless. I need to get back to Africa
I just received a heads up from another site claiming South African Airways is now charging $100 a gun per flight segment. Anyone know if this is true?
Good morning 1dirthawker. Just checking if you’ve sold the Zoli 9.3 yet? I’m still trying to convince myself I need another gun. My herd is also way to large already!
